TO THEE MASTER ....

I offer my prayer ...

Feed me, water and care for me, and when the days work is done, provide me with shelter, a clean dry bed and a stall wide enough for me to lie down in comfort.

Always be kind to me. Talk to me. Your voice often means as much to me as the reins. Pet me sometimes that I may serve you the more gladly and learn to love you. Do not jerk the reins, and do not whip me when going uphill.

Never strike, beat or kick me when I do not understand what you want, but give me a chance to understand you. Watch me; and if I fail to do your bidding, see if something is wrong with my harness or feet.

I cannot tell you when I am thirsty so give me clean, cool water often. I cannot tell you in words when I am sick, so watch me, that by signs you may know my condition. Give me all possible shelter from the hot sun, and put a blanket on me, not when I am working, but when standing in the cold. Never put a frosty bit in my mouth; first warm it by holding it a moment in your hands.

I try to carry you and your burdens without a murmur, and wait patiently for you long hours of the day or night. Without the power to choose my shoes or path, I sometimes fall on the hard pavements which I have often prayed might be of such nature as to give me a safe and sure footing. Remember that I must be ready at any moment to lose my life in your service.

And finally, O MASTER, when my useful strength is gone, do not turn me out to starve or freeze, or sell me to some cruel owner to be slowly tortured or starved to death; but do thou, my MASTER, take my life in the kindest way. And your GOD will reward you here and hereafter. You will not consider me irreverent if I ask this in the name of HIM, who was born in a stable.

AMEN

Two cowboys are riding along a trail in the mountains when they suddenly hear tom toms beating very close to them. "Oh! That doesn't sound good," one says to the other. As soon as the words were spoken, an Indian jumps out from behind a tree and said, "Yeah, our regular drummer is out sick."

Out West," the cowboy told the dude, " I used to chase cattle on horse back." "Incredible." Said the dude. "I never knew cattle rode horses!" -From 1001 Great Pet Jokes(book)

Horse ads: Revealed!

Before you take the plunge and buy your first horse, you may want to take a look at these hidden meanings behind the words!

'Excellent action' with back legs
'Numerous wins' Cheekiest pony
'Beautiful colour' after she ran into the shed and got herself covered in paint
'For sale due to lack of time' So much time spent in hospital
'Forward going' Try getting him to stop
'Loves to jump' out of field
'Strong willed' Still trying to get him in from field
'Lack of rider forces sale' There's no way I'm letting my child get back on that psycho
'Needs competent rider' Preferably one with a death wish and a velcro patch on the seat of their jodhs
'Hacks alone' Try getting him near another horse
'Loves children' but couldn't eat a while one
'Lovely brown colour' and that's the way he's staying until we can get near him to get the mud off his grey coat

the first day i got her she wasnt very responsive when i tried to bridal her she would shy away and not let me touch her head and i had trouble picking up her feet
she was very restless when i took her from her paddock and she was hard to control in one episode she dragged me over tried to get out of her stable
once she was saddled she was fine but she didnt listen to my instructions eg she would not stop
this is when i decided i was going to use "join-up"on her
