Blood of Me

by Drunkenbabe

Big ring around the moon

Gonna rain hard soon

Aeryn Sun could feel her blood leaving her body. Could feel strong arms wrap around her. Could feel her body being pulled into his lap. And, most importantly, could feel his lips graze hers.

I know you’re gonna leave

It’s like a storm inside

John Crighton pressed her head to his mouth, kissing her hair. Salty, crystallized tears rolled down his cheeks, landing on her raven-haired head.

"S’okay," He murmured, rocking her body against his chest. "Everything’s gonna be okay, everything’s gonna be fine."

"John, we can’t help her. Are you-" D’Argo’s voice was cut short by John’s persistent one.

"It’s okay, D’Argo. Everything is gonna be fine. She’ll be fine. I know it." D’Argo backed down; knowing John needed time with Aeryn. He sympathized them, thinking if it had been him and Chiana in that situation, he’d do the same thing. He left the room, the rest of the crew following.

You’re the blood of me

You’re the truth that hurts

You’re the memory

You’re the drug that works

Aeryn, hearing what had gone on between John and D’Argo, cupped John’s cheek with her bloody, but strong hand. He looked down at her, smiling slightly.

"Hey." He said softly.

"John-" She was cut off by a coughing fit.

"Shh, baby, don’t speak." He replied, wiping the sweat from her forehead.

Why do people change

When hearts still beat the same

"John." Aeryn said more urgently. He looked at her, tears leaking from his eyes. "Tell...tell everyone I...," She broke off coughing. "Tell them I...said goodbye-"

"No," John’s voice held an edge to it. "You’re not going to leave. You’re not going to leave me. Please don’t leave me." His hands found their way to her face, exploring it, memorizing it.

"I’m not going to-to live, John." Her eyes held sorrow.

"Don’t leave me."

You’re the blood of me

You’re the truth that hurts

You’re the memory

You’re the drug that works

She kissed his tears away, straining to do so.

"Don’t leave me, please." He whispered, rocking her harder.

She coughed again, blood trickling down the corner of her mouth. "It’s my time to go." She stated, hoarsely.

I don’t believe you when you tell me

I don’t believe you when you hold me

I don’t believe you. You’re my medicine

I don’t believe you when you fuck me

"No, don’t go. Please. I love you." Bile rose in Aeryn’s throat as she watched John’s pleading look through blackening eyes.

"I love you, too." She whispered. He leaned down and captured her mouth with his. They kissed, as passionately as they could. For it would be their last.

You’re the blood of me

You’re the truth that hurts

You’re the memory

You’re the drug that works

John felt Aeryn give a jolt and he pulled back, looking at her face. Her eyes had rolled back into her forehead, sweat matting her black hair, which stuck to her face.

"No." He whispered. "No! No, Aeryn, c’mon, wake up." Tears clung to his eyes as he shook her, as if she would wake up. "Aeryn. Aeryn, please. Not now, please."

But she remained still, as she was locked in the only inescapable thing: death.

Big ring around the moon

Gonna rain hard soon
