CHANCE ENCOUNTERS (Part six)
by Tekking
Moya came out of starburst near the Luxan colony.
It still took a day to travel at hetch 12 to the isolated post. The system had a small sun and only three planets.
The habitable world had a oxygen atmosphere with a
blue green ocean. The sky was reddish orange and reminded Crichton of stories of the planet Mars when he was a child.
Only instead of little green men, this planet was populated by huge, large Luxans with volatile tempers and the strength to back up their opinions.
Most of the residents were soldiers or support personnel.
Rigel and Zhaan went onto the planet and got the ship’s registry accepted for trade.
The Local merchants (both of them) were happy to buy the Chaken oil and the several dozen bolts of silk-spin cloth they had brought along. The Sabacean fruits and hardware didn’t sell well.
Rigel bought up a few dozen local craft items including a very ornate Shilquen he hoped to sell on Terre’Saret.
Rigel paid to have his products reloaded and flew back to Moya.
“ All in all I think that went rather well,” Rygel said smugly.
“ We managed to learn that Terre’Saret has a market and we will be welcomed.” Zhaan said.
“ Of course we will be welcome. If we can keep Crichton and Aeryn out of sight we will all do quite satisfactory.” Rygel beamed.

When the transport landed Chiana was waiting.
“ What the frell did you all take off without me for?” The young Nabari said indignantly.
“ Because... We wanted everything to go smoothly. No one angry...robbed, or hunting us down.” Rygel said his large eyes condescendingly glaring at her.
“ Hey... that’s not fair. I can behave when I need too, frog head!
I could of seen or learned something useful,” Chiana said.
“ You are right my dear. Forgive our unjust assumption upon your character. Perhaps on the next planet you will be able to go with us.”
Zhaan said with all the delicate, and humility she could fake.
Chiana found herself nodding her head as the two moved away down the corridor away from her.
“ I... eh... yeah,” Chiana said to no one.
John turned around to greet Rygel and Zhaan as they entered into Command.
“ Well? Are we legal in Luxanville?” John said leaning back on the console.
“ If what you mean: Are we able to go the Terre'Saret... Yes.”
Zhaan said with a smile.
“ Yes, -I- was able to purchase some additions to our cargo with the profits made from our sales. It seems that the Luxans are as eager to maintain good relations with good Peacekeepers as they
are bent to destroying the bad Peacekeepers. I think, -that- will go far in aiding our mission.” Rygel said as he brought his throne sled to a hover. Crichton looked at them and smiled.
“ I suppose that means we made enough to purchase some different foods and supplies?” John said eyeing Rygel’s response.
“ Well we did pick up a small...” Rygel started to explain.
“ Yes John and I’m sure we all will enjoy the fruits and vegetables we were able to purchase... won’t we all Rygel?” Zhaan said gleefully.
“ I... Well yes I suppose,” Rygel said frustrated from his purpose of keeping the fruits for himself.
Aeryn walked into command eyeing the group coolly, as usual.
“ Hey Aeryn. Good news we got our pass into Luxan space, and Rygel has gotten us some fresh food for dinner tonight.” John said.
Aeryn looked at Rygel and then art John.
“ Something edible... for all of us?” Aeryn said straight-faced.
“ I assure you Aeryn... we will all enjoy dinner tonight.
According to the map fibers we acquired, a single starburst and we will be close to D’Argo and escape,” Zhaan said excitedly.
