Forbidden Lust, pt. 2

Zhann was treating Rygel in the sick bay. The poor Hynerian had bruises around his throat from being nearly choked to death by Jothee. "What happened?" a voice asked. Zhann turned to see Elysia.

"Rygel just has a partly crushed throat, that's all." Zhann replied.

"Crushed throat?!" Rygel snapped. He turned to Elysia. "For your information, missy, I was almost choked to death by a psychopathic empathy called your boyfriend."

"I do not have a boyfriend." Elysia answered.

"That's not what Jothee thinks." Rygel grinned. After being patched up by Zhaan, he floated back to the safety of his own quarters. Elysia just looked on and cursed.

"You and Jothee?" Zhaan asked.

"It's not what you think." Elysia explained. "He has some strange attraction to me, but I do not feel the same way."

"Have you told him this."

"I've told him, but he does not listen. He's had this..lust for me for three cycles."

"Jothee was still the Hunter then, and under Kathra's control."

"Yes, he was. He was undercover looking for rebel spies. I met him, but did not recognize him as the Hunter until it was too late. By that time, he would've killed me, too if I hadn't been able to fight him off like I did."

"It sounds like you put up quite a challenge."

"Genetic enhancements has its advantages. Now...I don't know what to think anymore. I still see him as the Hunter, yet I owe him my life."

"Life has many strange paths for us. Perhaps Jothee will find someone else to satisfy him."

"I seriously doubt it. He'll die before that happens. The Hunter knows many things, but when to quit is most definetly not one of them."

"Give it time, Elysia." Zhaan said. "You must understand that Jothee's led a hard life before meeting Kathra."

"I know; she used it to control him." Elysia said. "I will try to be more understanding."

"I know you will. Bless the Goddess."

"Thank you for the advice, Zhaan."

As Elysia exited sick bay, she bmped into one of the crew. "Sorry." he said. Elysia paused and saw it was Jothee.

"Frell." she thought. "Just my luck."

"Elysia." Jothee said. "I didn't see you coming."

"It's all right, Hunt--Jothee." she replied. "I...didn't see you either."

"Perhaps we should bump into each other again....in the sparring room."

"Can't you ask one of the others to spar with?"

"No one gives me a challenge like you do."

"I'll...think about it." Elysia replied. "Now, if you'll excuse me."

As Jothee watched Elysia leave, he felt guilt and resentment for the situation he was in. Zhaan saw the whole thing from the door and prayed to her Goddess to guide the confused genetically altered Sebacean rebel and the broken-hearted Luxan-Sebacean soldier.
