Revelations Rated G
by CeRell
This is an excerpt from the ‘Epic’ I’m writing. The story is not going in this direction, but this was so ‘way out there’ I had to share… I was going to blame it on Maldis, but I think it’s really Claudia’s fault. : )
Revelations
Scorpious walked across the room studying Chiana and Jothee. "This really is too easy. I expected more of a chase." He complained to them.
Chiana struggled against her bonds. "I can LEAD you to Neri. The underground? The resistance? You’ve HEARD of them haven’t you?" She spit at him.
"That..humm…Is not my current objective. But one I shall certainly utilize when the time comes. In the meantime, I need John Crichton."
"He’ll die before you capture him!"
"Yes, that is what I keep hearing. But..hum…I do have you two to thank for walking right into my lap as it were." He smiled his wintery smile.
"I’ll die before I led you to him." She stormed.
Scorpious’s smile broadened. "You don’t have to."
"Scorpious." The tall beauty walked into the room.
"Yes, Jenovia?"
"Contact was made with the Moya crew 3 solar days ago. They have been given the coordinates. We should expect their arrival tomorrow."
"Excellent. Let’s see to it that the proper welcome is ready."
"NO!" Chiana cried as Scorpious smiled one last time as he left them alone again.

"I smell a trap." John said as the pod neared the empty base."Of course you do." Aeryn said a trifle sourly, a tone John hadn’t heard from her since the prior cycle. Her tone that inferred he was an idiot. "It’s a tactic of the peacekeepers, Crichton. An unknown sebacean walks up to us and informs us that Chiana and Jothee have been caught by peacekeepers. Just happens to know who we are and where they are being kept."
"As long as we both know." John smiled, not offended by her tone, just pleased she was finally talking to him.
"A trap hopefully we can slip through." She added wistfully as she maneuvered the pod onto the suspiciously empty base.
They exited the pod. Each carrying a sack of grenades and sorted explosives.
"Here we go again Sundance." John whispered as they slunk around the walls. His heart leapt when Aeryn gave him a large smile.
"Just watch your ass, Butch." She added. She pointed her gun towards a door. "That looks like the most likely entrance."
She carefully led the way as they stalked their way through the corridors.
At the same moment they all felt gun muzzles press painfully to their heads. "Drop your weapons."
As they complied they found themselves surrounded. They were stripped of their weapons quickly, handcuffed and drug into the room with Chiana and Jothee.
"Hey Pip!" John said brightly as he saw her. Her eyes filled instantly with tears. "Hey don’t cry on me now."
"You shouldn’t have followed. I didn’t want you to come to this."
He shrugged. "Sooner or later dren happens."
He ended up standing beside her.
She stated with surprise. "You forgive me?"
"Well, I do owe you one, but I decided I drove you to it. So, yea, I guess I do forgive you." He smiled and touched her with his shoulder, slanting his head towards her.
Chiana smiled her tears trickling down her face. "That’s good to hear. That’s very good to hear." She chuckled. She laid her head on his shoulder, taking what little comfort she could.
Scorpious walked in. A large sincere smile on his weathered, pale face. The black leather he wore creaking as he walked.
"Scorpy!" John greeted him with effected pleasure. "Is it really you? In the flesh?"
"Yes, John, in the flesh. You’ll never know how pleased I am to see you again. So good of you to arrive right on schedule.
Behind him followed a tall beauty. John grinned. "Jenovia. This just gets better and better!"
"John." She tilted her head towards him.
"Free Aeryn Sun." Scorpious directed his guards. "Another highly successful mission reaches it’s conclusion." He smiled at her. "Welcome back."
"It’s good to be back." Aeryn rubbed her wrists as she left John’s side.
John’s mouth dropped open. "What’s going on?" A rising horror enveloped him as the unthinkable grew to fruitation.
Scorpious responded. "We arranged for Operative Officer Sun to follow the Leviation into Starburst. We needed a presence on board to oversee the gestation. As you know we have always had problems with the mother and child dying during the conceptions and births. Congratulations on achieving what had been impossible, Aeryn. I knew sending in our top Directorate would give us the positive results we needed."
"This was all a ruse?" John looked at Aeryn in disbelief, refusing to believe what he was hearing.
She looked at him serenely. "I tried to warn you. I told you about Velorek."
"Is he still dead?"
"Velorek is very much alive." The tall sebacean laughed as he walked into the room. He slung an arm around Aeryn and they shared a tender kiss. "Good to see you again. Congratulations on a mission very well done."
She nodded her head. She looked to Scorpious. "I’d like to get started on the other Leviathans. And I need to be updated on the Nebari presence."
"You don’t want time to yourself?"
"I don’t need nor want it. Jenovia. I want a briefing in a quarter of an arn on the Nebari. No..better yet, make that an arn. Velorek, then I want briefed on the Leviathans. And finally, Scorpious, I expect a report on our manpower. But now, I need to speak with Crichton. Alone. Bring him."
She walked out of the room; the guards looked in confusion to Scorpious. "Move, she’s my superior." They grabbed John by the arms and hustled him after her.
"Sit down, Crichton." She paced slowly around the room as she began speaking. "Gently!" She admonished the guards as they shoved him into the chair. "Remove his handcuffs. Stand guard 20 paces down the hallway."
"First, let me say we didn’t originally intend for you to be a part of this mission. When you fell into our laps having experienced and created your wormhole, we used my presence to attempt to gather data. We then implanted a chip when the Aurora chair couldn’t extract the info we wanted. But the main mission was to learn how to achieve live births and how to work with the results successfully."
He looked at her stunned. "You are the head of all of this?"
"I am the Specialist Directorate Operative. I am in charge of this section of the Territories. I was born to the position and have kept it through repeated mission success."
"Why did you kill Gilina?"
"That was unfortunate. She had fallen in love with you and threatened our plans. Scorpious shot her in error. He should have wounded her. We had planned on sending her back with you while I stayed behind, supposedly dead. But you proved to care too much for me. Then I tried to have Jenovia replace me. That didn’t work either."
"Gee, sorry I wrecked your plans by falling in love with you."
Which brings me to my second point; I didn’t intend to fall in love with you. I did try to stay out of a relationship. But oft times one can’t control emotions or who we connect with. So now the question is what to do about us."
"So there is an us."
"My position is far too critical, especially with the political situation we find ourselves embroiled in with the Scarren and Nebari advance, to simply drop out of sight, live happily ever after."
"Velorek, how did all that come about?"
"The part about removing the original pilot was real as was bringing in the new pilot. We enacted the rest to add to my cover. A large part was to test the Pilot/Leviathan relationship depth we had."
"You did an awful lot to cover your ass."
"Success is best gained that way."
"I had asked you before and you didn’t answer. Do you love Velorek?"
"I did. Before I met you. You ended that relationship the first day I met you." She sighed.
"Sorry."
"No need. It’s me, not you. You just happen to be the one I want to spend my life with."
He smiled. "You really mean that?"
"Yes I really mean that. But I have to say, it’s a different love than I’ve ever felt before -that I feel for you."
A huge smile spread across John’s face. "So what do we do?"
"I could use your scientific mind at my side."
"You know you are quite the actress."
"Actress?"
"You played the part of the cast off grunt on the run to perfection. I had no clue you were anything else."
"That’s the point. I became what I needed to become for the success of the mission. It’s why we failed on our earliest attempts. It’s why I had to undertake the mission. We needed our best personnel in position."
"I’m glad you did."
"So am I. Now that our relationship is somewhat settled, I have to broach the mental clip Scorpious placed in your brain. You see, we need to extract it. We have to know if it was successful."
"That was dirty pool implanting the damn thing."
"The image of Scorpious wasn’t supposed to show itself to you like it did. It was designed to remain undetected while slowly filtering through your memories. It must be the interface with your human brain. I am sorry about that. We did what had to be done. The stakes are very high."
"He did save my ass a few times. One thing. How can you ignore what Jena or Chiana did? I thought that might well destroy us."
"Simple. I know you. I know what’s in your heart." She went to him and knelt before him. She clasped his hands in hers. "I do love you, John. What I feel I’ve never really known existed. I thought I was a whole person until I met you and suddenly, you became my other half. Despite everything I did, everything I thought, it still happened. Does that make any sense?"
"It makes complete sense, because that’s the way I feel too." He kissed her gently. "I don’t know how this will all play out. But the one thing I do know, is I want you beside me until the day I die or for eternity, whichever comes first."
He stood up and gathered her into his arms. "I want a family with you Aeryn Sun. What do you want?"
"I want you. And a family would be nice. I’ve never had that, so you’ll have to teach me. Put up with my faults."
"What faults?" He grinned and kissed her, loosing himself in the rapture of her unreserved response.
