// The daylight’s fading slowly

But time with you is standing still

I’m waiting for you only

The slightest touch and I feel weak

I cannot lie

From you I cannot hide

I’m losing the will to try

Can’t hide it, Can’t fight it

So come on, come on

Leave me breathless //

John got up and playfully chased after Aeryn.  She ran for a ways, then stopped and turned around.

“We can’t be doing this, John,” she said.  She placed a hand on his chest to stop him, but it made her look at her hand.  He looked down at it, then they slowly brought their heads up to look each other in the eye.

“Of course Aeryn.  We definitely can’t do this…”His voice trailed off as she smiled ever so slightly.  She nodded.

“Not right now.”  And with that, she turned and left.  He was left with a smile on his face and his hand on his chest where hers had been just microts before.

// Leave me breathless

Tempt me, tease me, until I can’t deny

This lovin’ feeling

Let me long for your kiss

Go on, go on, yeah //

“What the frell where you thinking, Aeryn?” she yelled at herself in her quarters.  She looked into the mirrors.  She splashed some water on her face when she realized she was talking to herself.  She went to her dresser and grabbed a clean shirt.  She put it on and sat on her bed, when an object caught her eye.  It was her picture with the cord still around it.  She picked it up and fingered it.  She brought it to her face and noticed that she could still smell his scent on it.  Her eyes involuntarily closed.  When she realized what she was doing, she threw the card across the room.

“Frell!” she yelled out loud.  “You just had to get attached, didn’t you Aer?  Just had to.  Of course, you now know how he feels about you.”  She smiled.  She knew how he felt.  She could remember how he felt when he saw her, looked at her.  She could “remember” how he felt when he first met her, when they were in the Flax, and when they were on the fake Earth.  She remembered and it made her happy.  Her, ex-Peacekeeper, trained soldier who swore she would never get attached, was in love.  And with a human no less.  She laughed slightly.  “You never could hide anything from yourself, could you?”  She got up, grabbed the card and went out of the room on a mission.

John lay down on his bed.  He saw the card of him and picked it up, fingering it for a few microts before seriously looking at it.  It happened to brush his nose when he smelled something.  It wasn’t him, but something else.  It was musky, soft, and feminine.  The corners of his mouth curled into a grin as he recognized it as Aeryn’s.  He held the card to his heart as he tried to remember what it was like in her body.  He could “remember” her memories.  He remembered all of her past relationships while in the Peacekeepers.  What startled him was when he could remember how she felt what he first met her.  Something there wasn’t there with all the others.

“Love at first sight, Johnny Boy,” he said out loud.  He chuckled, and closed his eyes, hoping to salvage something else before everything was gone forever.  He felt hoe she felt when they were on the false Earth together, and he felt her pain when the whole Velorek thing was discovered.  He kissed the card, put it in his vest, and set off on a mission.

// And if there’s no tomorrow

And all we have is here and now

I’m happy just to have you

You’re all the love I need somehow

It’s like a dream

Although I’m not asleep

And I never want to wake up

Don’t lose it, don’t leave it

Go on, go on come on leave me breathless //

Aeryn and John met in Command.  She was passing by as he came out of the Terrace.  She almost passed him by since she’d passed it three times already, but some movement from within caught her attention.  She took a double take and came back, seeing him exit the Terrace and look out the viewscreen into space.  She smiled and walked in, ever so softly.  She came up behind him and stood there with him, John watching space and her watching him.  Finally, John sensed that someone was there and said something, a grin coming to his face, of which Aeryn could not see.

“Nice of you to join me, Aeryn.”  She jumped ever so slightly, hoping that he didn’t notice that he’d startled her.  He turned around to face her and her hand dropped the card in her hand.  They both looked down at the card, and her empty hand grasping at the air for something to hold on to.  He took hold of her hand, bringing it up to his other hand.  He held her hand in his, reveling in the touch of her.  He brought it to his mouth and kissed it softly.  She gasped.

“I couldn’t leave you hanging like I did.  I figured I should come and clear a few things up,” she said softly, looking him straight in the eyes.  She almost drowned in those deep blue eyes.  He nodded slowly, never taking his eye off of her.

“I remember things I shouldn’t know.   Couldn’t possibly know from my lifetime,” he said.  She blushed and looked down, but brought her eyes back up.

“Me too.  Things I never could have dreamed of.”  He drew her closer and kissed her.  She pressed against him, deepening the kiss.  When they finally broke the kiss, Aeryn was the first to speak.  “I’m getting a little attached,” she said, smiling.  He smiled back and drew her into an embrace.

“That’s ok.  I am too, and we are finally in our right minds.”
