Aeryn and I were sitting opposite each other in the mess hall for breakfast, waiting for the others. We had all gradually come to enjoy each other's company during meals. All except for Rygel, but that's a completely different story. Zhaan, D'Argo, Jothee and Chiana all were soon seated with us. We talked about Moya, Talyn, the status of Peacekeepers, normal Leviathan chitchat.
It had been tense between Aeryn and me for a while. Before I got Scorpy's chip out, I had practically bashed her head in. Then, she "died" on the ice planet because of me, or rather, the chip. I think Aeryn thought, and still thinks, that there was a part of me that wanted to kill her. We did find her and treat her (Actually, I was the one who went down and got her. Essentially, I saved her, although she'll never admit it.). That day, we were doing a maneuvering lesson in her Prowler. She wouldn't look at me all through breakfast. Well, at least I never saw her. I could always tell when Aeryn was looking at me and didn't want me to know. She was good at hiding that kind of thing, but I knew her too well for her to hide anymore. When we were all finished with our meal and decided to go our separate ways. Aeryn and I headed for her Prowler for a flying lesson, Zhaan went to Command, Chiana to do some laundry, and D'Argo and Jothee to fix some of Moya's damaged systems.

Aeryn and I headed to the docking bay to ready her Prowler. Finally, we were ready for a lesson.
"C'mon Aeryn, it's time to go," I said, waiting for her in my back seat. No matter where I am, whether it is my module or her Prowler, I'm always in the backseat. She climbed in. I think she was thinking the same thing I was: the time before we went to the Royal Planet and Aeryn was teaching em to fly my module with the Leviathan modifications. She scented her hair, and one thing led to another. Soon we were having a make-out session in the back of the car. That was fantastic, until she blamed it on my hormones. Well, this time I didn't think we'd be rewriting that history, but with Aeryn, you never know.
"Ok, you're going to pull back like this. Good." She put her hands over mine to guide them, then stopped suddenly. I knew it for sure now- I was positive- that remembered the last time we were like this. I could tell she was getting uncomfortable, so I spoke up to relieve the tension.
"Um, maybe we should cut this lesson short, Aeryn," I said starting to unbuckle the safety belt.
"We need to talk." I was shocked. Aeryn Sun wanted to talk. I sat back down.
"OK Aeryn, if you want to, let's talk." I was surprised to hear her say that, since last time we talked it led to kissing.
"I need to know a few things. First, you kiss me and then you bash my head into the metal pillar. I know the chip made you do it, but I can't help but think and feel that you wanted it to happen, even just a little." I hung on to every word. My face fell as she finished. She thinks you want her to die. I thought. My eyes saddened.
"I couldn't live if you died, Aeryn. My life would be over. I can't help but believe that my coming through the wormhole into the uncharted Territories was meant to happen so that I would meet you. So that I would meet my true love." She hadn't been facing me, but she turned around in her seat and faced me. Her eyes brightened.
"Is Scorpius still talking to you?" she asked, continuing with her interrogation, but lightening her tone slightly. I took a deep breath.
"He hasn't really bothered me in a while, but he could still be there. Singing and keeping myself busy tends to keep him at bay." She grinned a bit and I raised an eyebrow. "Why?"
"I just wanted to get that straightened out," she said with a sly smile. I smiled back and thought, She likes you, Johnny Boy. You are one lucky devil!
"Always good to clear the air," I said.
"Very clear air," she said and reached up and pulled my head down, capturing my mouth in a passionate kiss. I deepened it, opening my mouth for her probing tongue. Suddenly, I broke the kiss.
"I don't want to push you to do something you aren't ready for," I explained.
"John, you were lips, I was tongue." And with that, I laughed and grabbed her, kissing her again.
