Aeryn woke up the next morning, her head lying on John’s chest. It slowly went up and down, the endless way it always did. Aeryn couldn’t remember being more content then ever before. She knew that they would be arriving near the planet soon, but Aeryn didn’t want to move. She was so happy, and she knew that when the others were going to come back on board Moya, John and Aeryn wouldn’t have the free time they enjoyed so much together, because no matter what they were doing, wether it was a talk they desperately needed or just a kiss to know everything would be alright, someone walked in, and things were cut short. What was it that John had told her about once? A vacation? It sounded wonderful, but Aeryn wondered if they would even get the chance to it. Well, she could dream...........
John stirred and opened his eyes. He looked at Aeryn with a warm smile and hugged her closer, if that were even possible.
“Aeryn, I don’t know what I’d do without you” he said softly.
“Well, I’m not gone” she said with a smile. “John, I-“
“Crichton?” Pilot’s voice said nervously.
“Yes, Pilot?” John said, picking up his comm and wishing he had turned it off.
“Just to let you know, we are heading towards the planet, and Rygel seems to have locked himself in one of Moya’s vents inside his room. He won’t listen to me. I-assume you’ll want his help?”
“Yes. Thank you, Pilot” said John with a sigh.
John turned to Aeryn. “We really have bad luck, don’t we?”
To John’s surprise, Rygel came out with ease, not saying much. They all went over the plan and took separate pods, since bringing the entire crew on one pod didn’t seem like a good idea. They would all be at each other’s necks.
They landed near the building, since they wanted to get out as quickly as possible. They walked inside casually, and Rygel headed over to a guard near the door they needed to get through.
“Ah, kind sir” said Rygel in his smooth, business-like voice. “I am interested in a piece I found in this museum.”
“Not for sale” the oafish-guard grunted. John was strongly remineded of it looking like a troll.
“No?” said Rygel. “I could’ve sworn I had seen a sale sign on it. I even talked to the owner of this place earlier..........he said it was for sale, and I came to see him, today. But I have been informed that he isn’t here. So I came to you, since you look the smartest of this bunch, to see if you would know it’s price.”
He grunted again. Aeryn and John were poking and prodding around the door, looking to see how to open it. Aeryn spotted a button, but it was right behind the guard.
“So, could you come with me and help me find out how much it costs? Really, it will only take a few microts.....”
He grunted again and walked away with Rygel. Seizing the chance, Aeryn hit the button and they were in.
John turned to his comm. “Dargo?”
“John? Is it really you? Where the frell have you been?”
“Moya had another starburst problem, but we have taken care of it. We are in the building. Are you still in the same cell?”
“Yes, and everyone else is here, too.”
“Were are coming.”
John and Aeryn went through a number of twists, turns, and tunnels, but they finally reached the cells.
Aeryn looked at Chiana, and of everyone else she looked the worst. Aeryn felt sad and wanted to hug her and tell her they would be out soon and everything was OK, but Aeryn could never promise that. Not the way her life went.
After a few moments of confusion, Aeryn and John were able to free their friends.
“This is too easy. This can’t be happening. Am I dreaming?” John asked, looking confused.
“You can figure that out when we get out of here” Aeryn said quickly.
They all started running, Dargo carrying Chiana who looked as though she was about to faint. They started hearing blasting from behind. They quickened their pace when John stopped and called, “I’ll go get Rygel!”
“John?!” Aeryn began, but realised that he was gone. “Frell. Here we go again.”
