| This is an interview with Westchester band FastEddie. Which out of a collection of
free demos collected at hardcore shows has become probably my favorite unknown band with their nine-song demo 'Put On Your Rubbers.' So lets cut the bullshit and ask some questions. How long have you guys been creating music together? 3 Years How old are each of you? Max- 20 years old, Joe -22, Greg -21, Danny- 28 From your demo 'Put On Your Rubbers' I can detect influences from Mike Patton, Gwar, and Portishead if Iam not mistaken. However, I'd rather hear it from you. What are some of the musical influences &/or artists you guys listen too? Phil Collins And is this the first band each of you have been involved in? We have all been in the local scene for years, playing in bands, mostly with each other What goes into songwriting? How is the creative process for you all? There is no process, I mean whatever comes out comes out. There's no set formula Is this a creative collective or does one-person act as dictator in writing songs? Max is Stalin!! How about shows how has the public reacted to Fast Eddie? Very good, there seems to be more & more people coming out to shows. People have seemed to really enjoyed what we offer, so I guess thats a good thing! Do you have any crazy stories from shows? I got shit on, danny tripped, joe tore his pants off & fell off stage How do you feel about a lot of the bands coming out of New York? Which ones?? Do you feel that the mixture of styles you incorporate will hurt you or help you in a scene where most of the bands look and sound exactly alike? We just do what we want, like pissed off toddlers! What is in the future for FastEddie?, Any sex tapes in the future? Not w/ each other. You got a sister? When can we expect new material? We are in the studio as we speak, the new stuff should see the light of day AROUND February/March. Thank you very much for taking the time to do this interview.
