Toroid
The toroid is made from a disk of MDF (Craftwood) with 4" ducting around the outside of it.  the toroid is raised from the coil to hopefully reduce the chance of a secondary strike by using a threaded rod.  To conceal the rod (It looks like crap) I used 2 old CD's with the label  sides facing together and a circle of 6 used nicotine cartridges (Easiest thing to find since I quit smoking). They fitted almost perfectly between the rod and the rim of the disc.   I repeated that setup right to the top and the top CD made a convenient pressure plate to hold the lower toroid in place.  I will need to find some sort of curved plate to bolt onto the top and push the top and bottom toroids together.  Maybe an old stainless steel hubcap or similar will do. As you can see in the picture, I painted the MDF disc silver.  You can also see that the top and bottom toroid aren't in contact. I have wires running along the mdf for now to connect them, but I will need to get the top toroid pushed down a bit further.  The CD stack can be seen better in the General Pictures section. I will possibly find some flexible tubing to squeeze between the 2 toroids and cover it in foil.
