Project Indian Page 2
Upon teardown, the rods were the obvious damage.  But when the flywheels were split the crankpin was found toasted!  A groove was found where all the oil passages were.
The fun didn't end with the crankpin.  One of the areas I has been carefully checking before the motor gave out was the cam chest.  I had the cams in and out several times and never seen any damage.  So how the busted tooth on the cam gear came to be, I will never know.  So until the cam is fixed they also have been replaced.
These are the new parts that have been installed in the motor.  The Jim's shafts I have been rat holing forever, so I had them in stock.  The connecting rods are a "Carrillo" style that are heavy duty and can handle the higher revs.  These came from Kiwi Indian Parts.  This photo just shows the difference in rods.

This is just another angle showing the unusual construction of the heavy duty rods. I believe this is referred to as an H-beam.
