Tip for Black Plants
--------------------
Your black plants are turning green? For foliage, it is all to do with pigment, a pigment depending usually on sun and light. It also depends on pH, and feed. Treat your black plants well, give them the right conditions, they will reward you by shining like the night. Black plants will often turn green under cover in a greenhouse and also if overshadowed by other foliage.

Nocturnal Flowers
--------------------
Nicotania
Yucca(Yucca filamentosa)
Moonflower(Ipomoea alba)
4 'o'clocks
Datura
narrowleaf evening primrose (Oenothera fruticosa)
Evening-scented stock
Night-Blooming Cereus
Mrs. George C. Hitchcock
Night Blooming Jessamine
Basswood Tree(Tilia americana)
Pygmy fringe tree (Chionanthus pygmaea)
Virginia willow (Itea virginica)
Night blooming wild petunia (Ruellia noctiflora)

Night blooming flowers use their light reflecting properties and fragrance to attract insects for pollination. They are therefore white, or light in color, in order to reflect the moonlight and advertise their beauty to passing moths and other insects. Sphinx moths are the primary pollinators of night blooming flowers. The insects that are attracted to your moon garden will in turn attract bats that can eat their own weight in insects each evening. Bats are a wonderful means of insect control and a wonder to watch as well. One can only assume that everyone knows how gothic bats are!
