A plea deal today spared a man known to police as the Rolex Bandit from a possible life sentence.

Darryl Capers entered guilty pleas to six felonies and received a 12-and-one-half year prison sentence.
Police say Capers and another man targeted women driving fancy cars and wearing diamonds and Rolex watches in a series of robberies that started six years ago.
Their luck ran out when authorities nabbed the accomplice for an armored-truck heist.
He identified Capers to police who found him in an Alabama jail, where he was booked under an alias for driving a stolen car.
