Bio Meryls first ambition was to be an opera star, but got into acting at while studying at Vassar and when she graduated she enrolled at Yale School of Drama. She gave a fantastic performance in Julia(1977) which earnt her her first of 12 Academy Award Nominations and an amazing performance in Kramer Verses Kramer(1979) which earnt her her first academy award for best actress in a supporting role. After this she went on to become the star of the 80s delivering amazing performances in films such as Sophies Choice(1982), .
