| Name: Renee Kathleen Zellweger (Zelly) Bday: 25th April 1969, Katy, Texas, USA Age: 35 Height: 5'5'' Bio Her father is a swiss-born engineer, Emil Zellweger and her mother is a Norwegian-born former nurse and midwife, Kjellfrid Zellweger. Renee also has an older brother Drew who was born in 1967 and is a marketing executive. Renee got into acting while attending a drama school and studied it while in Texas. After graduation she wanted to break into Hollywood to persue her acting career, but Hollywood is a tough place to get into so she stayed in Texas and gained role in Reality Bites(1994). After gaining critical praise for the film Love and a .45(1994) she moved to LA where she received a role in the film which lead to her big break, The Whole Wide World(1996). Cameron Crowe who was casting Jerry Maguire(1996) saw her performance and auditioned her for his film. Renee went on to be successful in independentp films and soon recieved more critical praise for her roles in One True Thing(1998), Me Myself and Irene(2000), Bridget Jones Diary(2001) and Chicago(2003) which earnt her and Academy Award Nomination and a golden globe win. Her recent role in Minghella's Cold Mountain(2004) also earnt her Golden Globe and Bafta wins and she is the favourite to win the Oscar 2004 for best supporting actress. |
