Began Acting Career - in British musical halls
Came To USA - at the beginning of World War II
"Lassie Come Home" - in 1943 he made his film debut with "Lassie Come Home."
Radio - performed a lot in radio with his versatile voice.
Broadway - during the 1940s and 50s worked on the Broadway stage.
"Maude" - starred as Bert Beasley on the television series "Maude" from 1975-77. His first appearance was in episode #64 "The Emergence Of Vivian" which aired February 3, 1975. His last appearance on the series was aired March 28, 1977 in episode #116 "The Household Feud."
Guest Appearances - for three decades he appeared in over 100 guest appearances, mostly portraying uncle and grandfather types.
Cartoons - he used his vocal talent in animated cartoons, providing many vocal characterizations.
Death - on February 27, 1985, in San Juan Capistrano, California, he died of a heart condition.
