A NOTE FROM BUDDY AND ELLEN'S FRIENDS AT FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH:   Buddy's  funeral  service  was truly a "Memorial" service, dedicated to his memory, his life and special service for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Buddy was active in our church, an active participant in Bible Study each week, and he had a passion for souls!

On the Sunday morning before Buddy went to be with the Lord, he was present at our Men's Breakfast, (he participated regularly)  then  he  left and went to the devotional service at the Crescent Care Center,  where  he  often went and helped minister to those precious souls - even before our Sunday School began.

At his Memorial Service,  our church building was filled and overflowing with many of  his  family  and friends.  Some of our newer church members, had never seen such a large number of people who attended his Memorial Service.

The ladies of our church provided a wonderful meal for the family and their friends.

Our pastor,  Brother Bryan,  shared  an  inspirational  message.  Our  church  men's  quartet  sang,  "Mansion Over the Hilltop".     The congregation joined with us as we all sang,  "I'll Fly Away"  and  several  in  the  congregation  shared their personal words of testimony of how  Buddy  had touched their lives.  Lynneil Murray  played  the  piano  and shared some of Buddy's favorite hymns.

There was a large display of photos of Buddy, Ellen and their family,  set up in the foyer of our church and they were left there for church services on the next morning.

Many of us at First Baptist Church have had many "Precious Memories" of Buddy and his life.  We know that the angels in heaven are rejoicing in his homecoming.
