                                           Celebrating the Life of

        Floyd Klopfenstein

Floyd L. Klopfenstein was born on December 11, 1925, in Crescent, to N.D. and Matilda (Rogers) Klopfenstein.  He grew up on a farm Southeast of Crescent and attended  Sand Valley School.  The school  went  up  through  the  8th grade.  Floyd finished this and then went to work on the farm until he was inducted into the U.S. Army in December of 1944 at the age of 19.  He went through his training and quickly attained the rank of staff sergeant and served in Honolulu,  Hawaii, before he was honorably discharged in 1946.

Floyd went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2004.

His family has said that his two hobbies would have  been  "bailing hay and building fence".  He loved the farm, and that is what he returned to after doing his time in the military.  It was during this time that Floyd took and passed the GED test. He hired on with Eason Oil Co. in the Crescent area in January, 1949.

Floyd married Bessie Lee (Wilson) on October 7, 1950,  in Crescent.  They have been united in marriage for over 53 years.

He was transferred to  Easons Chickasha Plant  in  1971  as  Superintendent  where  he was actively involved in the plant's growth. His value to the company was recognized and he was again promoted to the position of Operation's Manager- Natural Gas Processing.  He remained in that position until his retirement from Eason Oil in 1984.  Floyd did not remain retired;  he hired on with Baron Exploration as a consultant in 1985 and remained in that capacity until June, 2004.

Floyd was ordained as a deacon of this church on January 4,  1956,  and served for many years.    He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Crescent for 52 years.

Floyd enjoyed working at his farm Northwest of Crescent and spending time with his family and friends.  He is survived by his wife, Bessie Lee, of the home in Crescent; a daughter,  Susan Hodges and her husband, David,  of Clinton, Oklahoma;  a son, Steve Klopfenstein and his wife; Vickie, of Crescent; a sister, Thelma Mize of Crescent; a brother, Irvin Klopfenstein of Crescent; and a sister, Anna Lou Ergenbright of Del City, Oklahoma.

He is survived by four grandchildren,  Carolyn Hodges of Weatherford,  Oklahoma;  Kyla Hodges of  Clinton,  Oklahoma; Brad Klopfenstein of Crescent, Oklahoma;  and Katie Klopfenstein  of Crescent.  He is also survived by five nieces and four nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father,  N. D. Klopfenstein;  his mother,  Matilda Klopfenstein;  a niece, Cheryle Wright;  and a nephew Cecil Gene Mize.

HEAVEN IS GAINING A TREASURE

We lose things, misplace things, and miss things.
The search never really ends til you find them.
For awhile now, heaven cried for a missing treasure.
For awhile now, we have cried for a broken friend.
Letting go is always hard.  Maybe we never really do.
It just becomes
A reflective memory.
So while we have lost a brother, husband, father,
    grandpa, and a friend,
We can take comfort in knowing
That heaven found it's missing treasure.

I love you Grandpa,

Kyla
