Obituary for
Ruby Jech Ruby Ruth Bennett Jech went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 19, 2006 at Logan Hospital and Medical Center in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Mrs. Jech was born August 15, 1918 in Alfalfa, Oklahoma to Laura Mitchell Bennett and Walter Pollard Bennett. She was a graduate of Alfalfa High School and Oklahoma Baptist University where she received her degree in Elementary Education. She taught at Pleasant Hill Elementary School near Alfalfa and Carnegie Grade School before moving to Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She was teaching in Kingfisher when she met and married Chester William Jech on May 25, 1946. Shortly after marriage they moved to a farm southwest of Crescent, Oklahoma where they raised their three children. She was a faithful and supportive spouse and mother throughout all their endeavors. Mrs. Jech returned to teaching in 1959 at Crescent Elementary School. She taught until 1976 when illness deemed it impossible for her to continue. She was a dedicated teacher and took her responsibility seriously. At the same time she encouraged, loved, and taught her own three children to love the Lord and work hard for Him and their community. Shortly after she quit teaching, she began a lifelong desire to paint. Many of her oil paintings hang on walls of family members, friends, and former students. The museum in Crescent, Oklahoma honored her in 2004 with an exhibition of her paintings for the month of August. Among her paintings are both hers and Chester’s family home places. She was an active member of Oak Valley Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School director and often, the Christmas program director. She and her husband moved their church membership to First Baptist Church, Crescent, Oklahoma when they moved from the farm to Crescent. She remained active in the churches ministry until her health prohibited her. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Chester W. Jech, one son, Chester W. “Bill” Jech, Jr. of Kingfisher, OK; two daughters, Cheryl Kramer of Kingfisher, OK; and Pam Davis and her husband, Kent of Charlotte, NC; and four grandchildren, Kolby Kramer and his fiancée, Danica Ratcliff; Lacey Kuehn and her husband, Chris; Willie Jech, and Laura Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews and precious friends.
