At 10:30 (EST) each Sunday morning, the members and friends of First Baptist Church gather from their respective places to worship God together. Through prayer, hymns, reading of the Scripture, and preaching of the Word, we, the church family, share our joys and our burdens and seek to hear God speak to us.
In addition, a special "sermon" for children is given during the worship service. Children, grades one and under, are then dismissed for Children's Church which is held in the educational wing during the regular sermon time. A nursery is also provided for younger children.
For those who find it difficult to attend worship, the service is broadcast live each week over WSLM (1220 AM and 97.9 FM) from 10:45 to 11:30 (EST).
The Lord's Supper is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month. We invite all who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior to share communion with us.
Additional worship experiences throughout the year include periodic Sunday evening services, Maundy Thursday service, and an early morning Easter service. The Chancel Choir presents a cantata on Easter Sunday and one on Christmas Eve at a special candlelight service at 11:30 PM.
