Troop 120 Camping Check List

 

 

q       Current Boy Scout Handbook (important for getting advancement requirements signed off)

q       Bible

q       Hiking boots

q       Sleeping Bag (good to at least 30 degrees, 20 degrees for cold weather camping)

q       Ground mat or air pad

q       Plastic storage bin or duffel bag

q       Mess kit (with plate, cup, bowl, knife, fork, spoon - available from the Scout Shop on Uintah)

q       Hygiene kit with tooth brush, tooth paste, soap, towel, toilet paper

q       Day pack

q       Flash light

q       Pocket Knife

q       Layers of warm clothing, gloves, and hats appropriate for the weather

q       Rain coat or poncho

q       Personal first aid kit

q       Canteen

q       Sunscreen

 

The following are optional items or are equipment items required for more skilled Scouts:

 

q       Backpack with frame

q       Walking staffing or trekking pole

q       Fishing pole

 

Prohibited items:

 

q       Sheath knives (unless specifically used for fish cleaning)

q       Slingshots

q       Firearms and ammunition (except during shotgun or rifle merit badge courses)

q       Fireworks

q       Electronic equipment (video games, CD players, radios - except for car travel)

The troop provides tents for the campouts.
