Moni Bilé was during the 1980s one the big names in makossa music. He started in music at the age of 16 in Saker Pop Clan, a school band, where he played on bass. In 1978, he went to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, to pursue an international career in music.
His music has a distinct style, with relatively more emphasis on the bass and the rhythm section.
