| The folks here are wonderful, the kids amazing, and I have been rather fortunate in my job placement. The air is clean, the evenings quite, and nature plentiful. Occasionally I will descend from my mountain solitude to practice Kyudo (Japanese archery), go shopping, explore Shikoku, or terrorize the locals. Sometimes all at the same time. What follows is a hopefully rotating collection of pictures of life in Mihara and its environs that may help some people understand a little more about, Kyudo, rural Japan, me, and the JET Program (the easiest job you will ever love). |

| As a Japan Exchange and Teaching Program participant I teach English to elementary and middle school students. I am posted to the small village of Mihara in Kochi Prefecture, on Japan's fourth largest island, Shikoku. To say Mihara is rural is saying the least. More on Mihara and Kochi later. |
