First, a big thank you to all who took the time to fill out the survey. I hope you find the results interesting. Second, I am not a trained in statistics. I put this survey together to try and give current and future residents of Kochi an idea of what driving here entails. The survey was not intended to be scientific. Still, while the sample size is small, it does contain some interesting facts. Hopefully in the future someone better equiped for the task will take up the challege of putting together an authoritative document. That said, let's continue. |

Background: The survey consisted of 33 multi-format questions aimed at getting a clearer picture of the environment foreign drivers face in Kochi Prefecture, Japan. The survey was conducted on-line over a two month period and garnered 20 responses. These were solicited through the Kochi AJET listserve, a mailing group for employees on the Japan Teaching and Exchange Program who live or have lived in Kochi Prefecture. All responses were anonymous. Answer choices included in the survey but not selected by any respondents are not reported in this summary due to size constraints.
