Up in grandmas attic
There are treasures to be found
I could stay forever
Without ever coming down
Oh what fun to explore
The past and all its memories
Of my grandmas childhood days
All just for me to see
Boxes of old toys
Oh what a delight
To see what she used to play with
When she was a little tyke

I found a box marked special
And there inside it held
A stack of old love letters
From her bow before they wed
Over in the corner
Lay her wedding dress
A veil that she wore upon her head
It was beautiful I must confess
I bet that she was a lovely bride
On the day that she said I do
With all her guests and attendants
Her wishes had come true

One box did stand out
From all the rest around
It had my name upon it
And in it this is what I found
A very special treasure
Which meant more than anything
It was a quilt that she had made for me
That was called the wedding ring
Upon the day that I shall wed
This gift she will bestow
Memories will linger
Of my Grandma and long ago
