On Saturday of Otakon my friends and I arrived at 9 or something and signed up. Right away we went to where the cosplay sign ups were. We didn't have to wait cause we were in the youth cosplay ^.^;;; but there were a lot of cosplay groups there waiting in the hall. We sat through the rehersal and then about an hour or two later we left for the the dealers and art rooms.
I really don't think we did much during the day cause we weren't sure of what to do, seeing as it was our first con and we kept getting lost XD
The cosplay started a little late and I don't know why but people were yelling "yay" and "boo" in the audience...for some reason... There were 5 youth entrants, ours included ("he loves ME more" ^^;) and there were about 30 regular entrants. During Otakon last year I was still a newbie towards anime becuase the most I knew were CLAMP works, Yu Watase works and some others so I was pretty lost. I enjoyed the Slayers Skits ("the first church of anime" and the "xelloss and filia smackdown") as well as the X/1999 skit *_* (such good costumes..)
While everyone was being judged they showed the winning music videos which were, "Memories Dance", "Happy Boys and Girls", "This is your Life", "Hit Me Baby One More Time" and "Right Now".
After the cosplay winners were announced we went home cause we didn't feel awake enough to do anything else. I guess it was okay though cause I heard the water mains broke or something O_O;
As for it being our first con...I can't wait to go back next year!

Cons
- Crappy weather (that lasted the rest of the summer in MD --;;)
- Staring Orioles/baseball fans (*note to self*...stare back)
- Long lines
- Cosplay starting late
- The chanting of "chair" (I guess it wasn't that bad..but I didn't get it then ^^)
