FDTF MEDALS

In order of precedence

Medal of Honor

Three times a year, this medal is awarded to one officer. It is the highest honor an officer can receive in the Federation Defensive Task Force. The recipient is chosen by the FDTF Commanding Officer.

Officer of the Month Medal

Once a month, the officers of the FDTF vote on who they feel is the best officer in a certain month. The winner is the one with the most votes at the end of the month. Officers can only be nominated by their Commanding Officer. This medal is for officers who hold the rank of Commander and below. Captains and Admirals are ineligible.

Federation Defensive Task Force Medal

This medal is for officers who have a significant impact on the site. Officers with the rank of Captain and above are eligible. To receive this award, a command officer is recommended by their peers. A vote is held. If the vote passes with a majority vote, the officer receives the medal.

Distinguished Service Medal

This medal is awarded to officers who contribute to the continuing operation of the FDTF. This requires participation in missions and performing their duties as expected. As a junior officer does not have much of a career to speak of, this medal is for officers who hold the rank of Lieutenant Commander and above. This medal also shows that an officer has established themselves as someone who is on the brink of a prominent career in the command ranks.

Hyperion Medal

This medal is awarded to one cadet per graduating class. The cadet who receives this medal is one who has shown promise in all areas while in the academy and participates regularly. They also show a good aptitude for the procedures of this organization. This medal is awarded by the command staff of the Academy.

Perfect Score Medal

This medal is awarded to those who achieve a perfect score on the trivia

Purple Heart Medal

This medal is awarded to officers who receive injuries during a conflict. The injury must be severe enough for the officer to be removed from duty. Scratches and minor injuries do not count.

Campaign Medal

This medal is given when ships engage in major campaigns. To receive the medal, the ship must be present at the campaign. The ship an officer is posted on being present does not automatically entitle an officer to this medal. Posting is required during the campaign to be eligible. Ship captains are responsible for submitting officers names for this medal. Campaigns are listed on a separated on a separate area of the site. For a mission to be considered a campaign, it must involve, at least, all ships (that are manned) in a squadron. If just one ship is not present, the mission cannot be classified as a campaign. Not all campaigns involve combat.

Combat Action Medal

This medal is given to officers who take an active role in a combat situation. It is the captains responsibility to submit officers names for this medal.

Good Conduct Medal

This medal is given to cadets upon graduation from the Academy. It is added to the biography when it is created. It is possible to graduate from the Academy and not receive this medal. Most commonly this is the result of disciplinary action.

The following medals each hold the same level of precedence and are listed in alphabetical order. They are given to officers for excellence in their field.
