Today is our 2nd Wedding Anniversary. Felt delighted to celebrate it with another
life within me. We were also thrilled as we were going to announce the expected
arrival of the little one into this world. We created our baby’s first homepage
- to announce its expected arrival in Aug ’02 and sent that to our friends and
family. Everyone expressed their happiness and a few of them thought it was a
great news to hear from us on our wedding anniversary! Ofcourse, some did criticize
(as we had thought so) for informing them so late.
We both went to Olive Garden for dinner and enjoyed the evening.
February 12, 2002 - Our First Pre-Natal Class
We had our first pre-natal class "Early Pregnancy Class" today. Ms. Annette Neumann
was our guide. Met quite a few moms to be in the class. The class was basically to
discuss the problems and concerns early in pregnancy, Ms. Neumann was an excellent
instructor and the 2hr class went on very lively. Felt, that the class could have
been a little longer!!
Ms. Neumann suggested the book "What to expect when you are expecting" for the
expectant parents. She also recommended that we attend the other pre-natal classes
that were offered by Kaiser Permanente, exclusively for its members.
At the end of the class, there was a raffle and guess, I was the lucky one to win...
Ms. Neumann gave me a Teddy-Bear and told me that he was born in Kaiser too !!!!

Sathish called up Kaiser Permanente and registered for all the pre-natal classes.
We had one class in March ’02 and about 4 in April ’02.
February 26, 2002
The appointment with Dr. Lurvey was at 3 p.m. We reached the hospital at 2:45 p.m. and
had the routine tests done. We had a long wait that day before we could meet Dr. Lurvey.
Finally we met him at 4:20 p.m. Somehow the due date wasn’t entered in my pre-natal
records. Dr. Lurvey thought he would do a quick ultrasound to confirm that. At the end he
said that the baby is a "Big Baby" and estimated the due date as 10th Aug '02. He also
mentioned that I was 16 weeks and 2 days along in my pregnancy then (by baby’s growth),
although it was only 14 weeks and 2 days, since my last menstrual period.
He advised us to go for an in-depth ultrasound, which is normally done between the
18th and 20th week of pregnancy, and asked us to meet him after 6 weeks.
We also gave our refusal for the AFP Screening Test, to Dr. Lurvey.
I made an appointment to meet Dr. Lurvey on 9th Apl '02.
Then we went to the Radiology Dept. and scheduled for the in-depth ultrasound on
18th Mar '02.
