to read about my boring daily experiences, ty my blog on Live Journal. (not advised for people who aren't friends) |
Through painting and drawing, Felix struggles to capture the feelings that come with epiphany. She is obsessed with the experience of "deja-vu," and the nonsensical logic of dreams. In her paintings and drawings, she is trying to convey the weirdness of a moment of time in which you grasp a concept that was previously too large for your mind to hold. To better understand the warp and weft of the world, she is seeking connections between things that seem unrelated, looking for the underlying patterns in the universe, and trying to reconcile what we can feel as true with what we see as real. She firmly believes that truth lies somewhere below the surface of what is perceived. ----------------------- Robin "Felix" Eddy is a graduate of Alfred University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. During 2002, felix worked at MacKenzie-Childs Ltd., painting furniture for a living. She was laid off in spring of 2003, and moved back home to Buffalo recently to work there and participate in shows as often as possible. She had a rented space briefly in the Redfish Studios in East Aurora, NY where she worked on her own paintings and had a number of art shows. She has just moved again, down to Binghamton, NY, where she is teaching art classes at the ART Mission, and working on advancing her art career and getting involved with the emerging arts scene. Felix would love to hear your feedback, comments, andconcerns about the world, her art, her website, oranything else that comes to mind. please email me! Felixxkatt@yahoo.com |
