HEALING

by T'Lin 0203.09

Saavik and Joanna sat in silence as they watched the USS ENTERPRISE - NCC-1701-B return to the orbital spacedock. It had already been a long day, as Saavik had spent the morning with Spock, and Joanna with her father, Leonard McCoy, doing what they could to convince the longtime friends that they were not responsible for, nor could they have prevented, the accident that left James T. Kirk missing, and presumed dead.

The fact that both of these men were originally asked to be on the inspection tour with Kirk, but declined the invitation, made their task more difficult. But Spock and McCoy had been on Vulcan ... both now retired from active duty ... it would have been illogical for them to return for 'one last go 'round' as Kirk had said in his last transmission before the ENTERPRISE left the space dock.

Of course, it had done no good to point this out to either of them. They had returned to Earth as soon as they had heard the news, and were even now on their way by high-speed shuttle to join Captain Sulu aboard EXCELSIOR to assist in the investigation, for Spock was convinced that James T. Kirk was still alive.

Neither Saavik nor Joanna wanted to admit it, but they hoped that Spock was right. Kirk was like a beloved Uncle to both woman, as he was to Demora Sulu. They knew that she would be devastated, for she was there, in the middle of the action, when he was lost. It had been left to them to console her, while her father investigated the situation.

Everyone had heard, of course, but seeing the damage to the great ship sent a collective gasp throughout the waiting area of the orbital spacedock. Saavik stared, as Joanna grasped her hand tightly, whispering, "My god ..." then buried her face in Saavik's shoulder.

Saavik knew that if she looked at her friend she, too, would lose all control. She could not allow that to happen, for she needed to be strong for the others. Especially Joanna; unlike Saavik and Demora, she was never part of Starfleet. She was aware of the dangers inherent to the job, but only in the abstract. She had been lucky ... her father had always come back, alive and well.

When Saavik felt Joanna's sobbing subside, she gave her hand a squeeze and said, "Come on, they have nearly completed their docking procedure. The crew will be disembarking soon, and we must be there to meet Demora."

"Yes, of course." Joanna straightened up, and took a moment to compose herself before adding, "I didn't imagine that it would have affected me so ... to see the ship like that."

"There is no need to apologize ... I understand," Saavik said, as images of another return to spacedock flooded her memory. That time, she had lost the person whom, for all intents and purposes, she considered her father. Spock had sacrificed himself for the safety and well being of the rest of the crew ... just as Kirk had done for the ENTERPRISE-B.

But she had no illusions that the final outcome would be the same. After all, Spock had been returned to her through the power of the Genesis Device, and the sacrifice of yet someone else whom she loved. She could not conceive of such a miracle restoring James T. Kirk to them now, no matter how much Spock or Leonard or anyone else wished it.

Joanna saw the pained look on her friend's face. Instantly, she knew the cause, and regretted her lack of self control. "Yes, you do," she said, as she stood. Saavik joined her, and they made their way to the debarkation area, where they would meet Demora Sulu.

*****

Demora was the youngest of the three. Newly graduated from Starfleet Academy, she had been pleasantly surprised to find her first assignment aboard the flagship of the fleet, the newly commissioned USS ENTERPRISE, NCC 1701-B. It had always been a dream of hers to follow in her father's footsteps, and that dream came true on her very first mission.

But the dream turned to a nightmare, as the ship founds itself in danger, with a Captain that seemed inadequate to deal with the situation. In the end, the loss of life had been minimal ... but that one loss was a devastating blow to all whom he had saved.

By the time the ENTERPRISE had returned to spacedock, Demora was numb. All she wanted to do was find her father, and hold him close ... after all, he was the only family she had left, and this recent tragedy made her realize just how lucky she had been until now. But he was on EXCELSIOR, the ship assigned to investigate the disappearance of James T. Kirk ... their reunion would have to wait a bit longer.

With the ship finally docked, and all systems locked-down, Demora gathered her few possessions and disembarked. As she made her way to the shuttle terminal, she heard her name called out. Looking up, she smiled as she saw Joanna and Saavik. Altering course slightly, she made her way to were they were standing. Without thought, she dropped her bag at her feet, and pulled both of her longtime friends into a fierce embrace. She could feel the tears on her cheeks as she held onto them like a lifeline.

They remained like this for some time. Not surprisingly, it was Saavik who pulled away first. "Come, ladies ... let us find a more 'private' setting for this reunion, shall we?"

Demora and Joanna both had tears in their eyes as they stepped back from their embrace. "Of course, Saavikam," Joanna said, as she picked up Demora's bag, and slung it over her shoulder. "My car is in the lot, what about your's?" she asked, as she looked at Saavik.

"I did not use mine today," she said, for she had known that the older woman would have, and it would have been inconvenient to have too many vehicles to deal with. "Please lead the way."

Joanna did just that, with her arm around Demora's waist. Saavik, uncomfortable with such open signs of affection, walked behind them. It took only minutes to reach the car park, and find Joanna's vehicle. Placing Demora's bag in the back, they climbed in.

Joanna pulled out of the parking lot, and maneuvered onto the highway. The trip to Saavik's apartment would not take long.

Saavik, knowing they would all return to her apartment, had made preparations before she left in the morning. Light refreshments had been prepared, and were waiting for them in the stasis unit. There was also a selection of fresh fruit, and some very nice white wine. Saavik herself rarely indulged, but this wine was different ... light and fruity, with a low alcohol level ... but there was something about it that seemed to lighten the mood, without adding giddiness. Considering the circumstances, it seemed like the perfect drink.

There had been little conversation on the short trip here, which in a way disturbed Saavik. She knew that she and Joanna had spent their first day together talking, sharing what news they had heard, catching up on other aspects of their lives ... and of course, making love. They had assumed that Demora would be just as eager to talk about things with them ... but she was eerily silent.

Of course, she had been directly involved ... the incident must have been very traumatic for her. All the more reason to talk about it, as far as Saavik was concerned, but of course, psychiatry wasn't her specialty. Joanna was the one who dealt with this kind of thing on a regular basis, and it would be up to Joanna to get Demora to open up.

In the meantime, they shared a light meal, and sipped their wine ... Saavik and Joanna talking about insignificant bits of trivia, as Demora listened. Apparently, she craved the sounds of their voices, and their touch more than anything else, as she sat next to Joanna, absently making small circles on her thigh, as she leaned against her shoulder.

As Demora settled against Joanna, she was very aware of Demora's state of mind. It would not do her any good to force her to talk about what happened. Instead, she let her feel safe and comfortable, as she engaged in more small talk with Saavik.

The wine was making her very relaxed, and just slightly horny ... then again, that may have been Demora's presence more than the wine. There had always been something about the petite woman that turned Joanna on. As she talked with Saavik, her arm went around Demora's shoulder, and down her front, to caress the firm breast. As the nipple stiffened, Demora shifted and moaned slightly ... her own hand moving from thigh to between Joanna's legs, teasingly brushing against her sex.

Saavik smiled as she noticed what was happening, and slid out of her chair to crawl over and kneel in front of the two of them, one hand reaching out for one of Joanna's breasts, the other for Demora's sex. All pretense of conversation stopped, as Saavik leaned forward to kiss one, then the other ... and as she pulled back slightly, Demora and Joanna kissed each other.

They were a lovely tangle of groping hands and searching mouths, but only for a short while. As usual, it was Saavik who broke the spell with her words. "May I suggest we retire to my bed chamber, where we may be more comfortable?" And saying this, she stood, offering a hand each to the others.

Breathing slightly irregular, and feeling a bit dazed, they looked at one another, then up at Saavik. Seeing the intense heat smoldering in her eyes, they agreed. Taking her hands, she pulled them both to their feet.

For a moment, they stood there, bodies pressed together in a loving three-way embrace ... then by sheer will alone, Saavik propelled them into her bedroom, pushing them both toward the bed as she released them. As they collapsed onto the bed, Saavik started to remove her clothes, stripping quickly as they watched.

"Strip," she said, as she stood before them, rubbing her own nipples to stiff peaks. They both, in turn, stood and stripped as they were told to do. Soon, all three were naked, and highly aroused. As they were undressing, Saavik positioned herself across the bed ... feet on the floor on one side, with her head near the side against the wall.

Joanna smiled as she realized what Saavik had in mind ... Demora, never having been part of one of their 3-way's before, took a bit longer to figure it out, but as the configuration began to make sense to her, she smiled also. Now, it was just a matter of who got to go where first.

Since Joanna and Saavik had already spent several hours in mutual pleasure the night before, Joanna felt it was only fair to allow Demora to have the 'top' position, knowing that Saavik's tongue would certainly relieve any tension the younger woman had pent up inside her. Joanna pulled Demora into a loving embrace, hands roaming freely over her as she explained what they had in mind. As they continued to caress and explore one another, Saavik let out a soft moan from the bed. Turning as one, they saw that she was fingering herself with one hand, while the other alternated from breast to breast.

"Up you go, Demora," Joanna said with a pat on her rump. "Looks like Saavikam is ready for you."

"More than ready, I should think," Saavik said, as Demora knelt on the bed beside her. Saavik's fingers slipped into Demora, as the younger woman suckled on her breasts. Joanna watched for a minute, her own nipples stiffening as she pinched them between thumb and fingers. When Saavik removed her fingers from Demora's sex, and urged her to straddle her, so that she could taste the sweet juices flowing from her pussy, Joanna knew it was time.

She knelt between Saavik's knees ... her tongue tasting of Saavik's exotic juices, as she finger-fucked her. In the meantime, Joanna had slipped the fingers of her other hand into herself, and was near orgasm, but no matter what she did, it eluded her.

Suddenly, Saavik bucked and moaned, her juices flowing freely ... Joanna lifted her eyes without stopping what she was doing. The sight of Demora, in obvious ecstasy as she was being fucked by Saavik's tongue, and the knowledge that Saavik was also coming hard, was all Joanna needed to push her over the edge.

*****

Sated for the time being, the three lay in a heap on the big bed. Arms and legs tangled, they were comfortable in their silence, yet there was so much more that needed to be said and done. It would be up to Joanna and Saavik to heal Demora. The numbness she had been feeling after her traumatic experience aboard the ENTERPRISE would take some time to dissipate. The sex had helped, but there was more at stake here than her physical well being.

Saavik was suddenly aware that the others had fallen asleep. Knowing that there was one thing only she could do for her young friend, she reached out for the meld points on her sleeping face, and initiated a light meld. The calming and soothing thoughts she planted would aid in her recovery.

She had been tempted to 'make her forget', but it would be unforgivable to 'remove' the incident from her mind. Instead, she planted a suggestion, making the trauma appear to have been less 'recent' ... for as they say, only time heals all wounds. Hopefully, this illusory 'passage of time' would make it easier for Demora to talk about what happened.

Knowing she had done all she could for now to help heal her friend, Saavik allowed herself to fall asleep. Tomorrow, it would be Joanna's turn to work her magic on Demora ... and another bout of love-making wouldn't hurt, either.
