There was a shriek, as the lights went out. The emergency lights kicked in and Leeta whirled around,
terrified, facing the person she was with. The woman. The woman in the mask. The woman gazed at
her from behind that ambiguous mask, her head turning slightly to one side, questioning. Then, she was
laughing. She was laughing, like what had just happened was some kind of cruel joke. Reaching up, the
woman pulled the mask off slowly and Leeta gaped in horror at what she saw.
A day earlier, Leeta was lying on a couch, stretched out, talking about her problems.
"He just wouldn't listen to me, anymore," she said. "I mean, I know he's really important and all, now,
but, hey! he can calm down and listen to what I have to say every once and awhile. That's not too much
to ask, is it?"
Leeta adjusted her position to look at who she was talking to. Ezri Dax, calm, collected, listening
intently, gazed back at her.
"No," Ezri offered. "But, did you ever consider that some of Rom's resentment is because of you?"
"What do you mean?" Leeta asked.
"Well, while the two of you lived here, on the station, he essentially worshiped the ground you walked
on. And now, with all his responsibilities, he doesn't have the time to spoil you anymore."
Leeta looked at Ezri for a moment, then returned to her lounging position. "Huh," was all she said.
"I don't mean to imply that it was *your* fault that the marriage failed," Ezri went on. "It takes two to
make a thing go bad. My marriage fell apart almost the same time as yours. Some of the same
problems, for that matter. But I'm over it now."
"Yeah," Leeta said. "It's been a few months, I'm starting to feel better and being back on the station is
fantastic. Everyone's so nice."
She eyed the carved pumpkin sitting on a table in the office.
"What is that?" she asked.
"It's a jack-o-lantern," Ezri said.
"What?"
"A symbol," Ezri said. "It relates to a human holiday. Halloween, it's called."
"Oh," Leeta said. "What kind of holiday is it?"
"Children dress up as monsters and ghouls and walk around to other people's houses and ask for candy."
"That's strange. Why would anyone give the kids candy?"
"Everyone does."
"Everyone?"
"Well, most people."
"Hmm. Sounds kinda warped."
"It's a good excuse to party," Ezri said.
"The kids party?" Leeta asked.
"No, not really. Adults do."
"Adults dress up, too?"
"Some of them do. In fact, we're having a party tomorrow night. A masquerade. Why don't you come?"
"Maybe. What's a masquerade?"
"You have to wear a mask. Until midnight, at least."
"What happens at midnight?"
"The unmasking. We all take off our masks and reveal who we are."
"Could be fun," Leeta said.
"It will be," Ezri said.
"Might be fun to be someone else."
Suddenly, Ezri's hands were on Leeta's neck. The counselor was giving her a massage.
"What are you doing?" Leeta asked.
"You looked tense," Ezri said, most definitely not taking her hands away. "I thought I could help."
"Well, I'm tense, that's true, but--oooh!"
Ezri had found a sensitive spot on Leeta's left shoulder and wasn't going to give it up.
"By the Prophets, you're good!" Leeta said, eyes closed, body writhing on the couch.
Ezri's hands snaked down the Bajoran's chest, encircling her considerable bust.
"Woah," Leeta said, "okay, that's a bit much--oooh!"
Ezri's fingertips had begun to trace Leeta's nipples.
"I don't think this is appropriate," Leeta said, her voice breaking.
"Don't question my counseling techniques," Ezri said sharply, pinching Leeta's nipples.
"Yes, counselor," Leeta said.
"I'm *very* good at this. Just ask Kira some time."
Leeta moaned, picturing this.
"Bet you like that," Ezri said. "I know you'll love this. I can sense it. You want me, you want Kira.
Always have. And the feeling's mutual. I mean, look at those breasts!"
Ezri pushed her hands together, Leeta's breasts between them. They popped out of her uniform, big and
full.
"Yes," Ezri said, "that's what I mean."
The Trill leaned over Leeta and took her right nipple into her mouth.
"Yes," Leeta shrieked. She clasped her arms around Ezri's middle, bringing her closer. In a few
moments, her hands were exploring the Trill's small, perfect ass, kneading and caressing. While Ezri
started on the left nipple, leaving the right one red and swollen, Leeta cupped the Trill's sex. Ezri let out
a muffled moan, her mouth full, as Leeta grasped hard.
Leeta relaxed her hand and Ezri slipped onto the couch next to her. The two women stared at each
other, then the Bajoran started to undo the Trill's uniform. She hit a snag.
"Get this damn thing off!" she screamed and torn the front of Ezri's suit open. Taking a moment to
savor the Trill's small, pale, beautiful breasts, Leeta lightly caressed her counselor's stomach, her
fingers gently probing the belly button as they passed by. Suddenly, she yanked down Ezri's pants. The
Trill accommodated her patient by leaning back and lifting her bottom off the couch. Leeta pried them
off and flung them aside. She then stripped down herself, her clothes crumpling to the floor in a heap.
The two women sat next to each other, spread eagle, Ezri's left leg draped over Leeta's right. The Trill
reached over and began to masturbate her patient. Taking the hint, Leeta reached over and did the same
to her counselor. This went on for another couple of minutes, then Ezri took her hand away from the
Leeta's sex.
"God, I love Bajorans," she said, admiring her soaking wet hand.
Leeta laid down and gestured Ezri to lie on top of her. Dax did so, straddling Leeta's face and dipping
between her patient's legs. They were a sight lying there on the couch, heads buried in each other's
crotches, moaning louder then they probably should have, legs bucking occasionally when one or the
other hit one of their partner's sensitive spots. Leeta kept stealing glances at the Trill's back. She loved
those spots and ran a hand over them every now and then.
They both screamed, orgasming at the same moment, their states of being someone synchronized at this
moment in time.
Leeta was on her way back to her quarters when she ran into Ensign Howard. He stopped, greeting her.
"Hey, Leeta," he said. "How's my sexy girl doing?"
"By the prophets, will you leave me alone?" Leeta said. He was *so* annoying. He was new to the
station and everyone seemed to like. Everyone except for Leeta, that was.
"Hey, we both know that you want me. It's no secret."
"I *want* you to drop dead, that's true."
"You'll regret you said that," Howard said, suddenly serious.
"I'm sure I will," Leeta said, finally breaking away from the ensign.
The next day, after a little searching, Leeta chose her costume, a skeleton suit, with a thin,
spindly-looking skull. It gave the Bajoran the creeps just looking at it in the mirror. But, wasn't she
supposed to be scary? She still didn't quite get this Halloween thing. She turned around to buy the
costume and saw Ezri donning her mask. She wore long, elaborate black robes and was putting on a
mask that had two faces, one that was covered the face, and one directly on the back of the head. They
were the same, both white, implacable faces. This mask also had a hat. A strange, triangular, black hat.
Ezri turned around, noticing that Leeta was watching her.
"We're not really supposed to see each other in costume before the party," the Trill said, taking the
mask off, revealing a smile on her face. "But I don't think anyone will mind."
"Quite a costume," Leeta said.
"Yeah," Ezri agreed. "Apparently, it's from some old human film. I don't know which one."
"Oh, movies! I've seen a few of those. They're pretty good."
"Some of 'em are."
"What time's the party?" Leeta asked.
"Twenty-One-hundred hours," Ezri said.
"Meet you there?"
"Wouldn't you like to know." A wicked grin appeared on her face, and she whirled around, heading to
the counter to checkout.
It was a couple of hours before the party when Leeta ran into the Romulan in one of the hallways near
her quarters. The woman was strange for a Romulan. She had blonde hair which looked real. She must
have been from a mixed relationship. Leeta also found it strange that there was a Romulan on the
station at all, she was sure that relations between the Federation and the Romulan empire were not
going well. And, of course, Leeta couldn't help noticing that this woman was to die for. She was
gorgeous in a dangerous, steamy kind of way, with intense eyes. She was also somewhat familiar, like
Leeta had seen her around the station in passing before. Ever since she had been with Ezri the day
before, Leeta had been noticing woman more than she ever had in the past.
The Romulan came up to Leeta, stopping her in the middle of the hallway.
"Excuse me," she said, "can you tell where the masquerade will be held tonight?"
"Uh, sure," Leeta said. "It'll be at Quark's."
"Quark's?"
"It's the bar."
"Ah, yes, the bar," the Romulan said, looking off into nothingness. "I could use a drink right now.
Would you like a drink?"
And now the Romulan was suddenly closer to Leeta, close enough for the Bajoran to smell her. She
wore no perfume, but there was definitely a scent coming off her. Something primal and sexy. And then
there was the first touch, a simple hand on Leeta's shoulder, but it seemed so much more.
"But I don't want it at Quark's," the Romulan said. "In fact, I don't think it's alcohol that I want to drink
at all."
And she kissed Leeta. It was a long, passionate kiss, harsh and unprovoked. When it was over, the
Romulan took Leeta's head in her hands and looked her straight in the eye.
"Where are your quarters?" she asked.
Naked, her legs twisted at an extreme angle, ankles behind her head, Leeta sat on her bed in heaven.
The Romulan woman had her head buried in Leeta's crotch, her lips doing amazing, seemingly
impossible things to her nether regions. God, where did she come from? Leeta thought. And, on the
heals of that thought, was she dangerous?
But, at the moment, Leeta did not care. All she cared about was this woman's head between her legs
and the exquisite pleasure her body was receiving. She opened her eyes and looked down between her
legs. The Romulan woman, also nude, was pleasuring herself with both hands, needing only her lips to
satisfy the Bajoran. The moment Leeta looked down, the Romulan's eyes focused on hers, seeming to
know she was now being watched. After that moment, neither broke eye-contact.
Suddenly, Leeta felt her hips bucking and an intense feeling brimming up inside her. She yelped and
orgasmed, a bit of fluid spraying from her, covering the Romulan's face and mouth. Leeta collapsed
onto the bed, her breathing becoming more steady as she came down from the high. The Romulan got
on the bed next to her, walking on her knees. She stayed there, her legs and hips near Leeta's head. The
Bajoran reached out to pleasure the woman, but the Romulan stopped her with a hand.
"No," she said. "Don't touch, just watch."
And she masturbated herself to her own orgasm, fast and intense, hardly any noise escaping her
beautiful lips. She laid down next to Leeta and kissed her, bringing her hand up to let her lover taste
her. Leeta sucked those fingers like her mother's teats, thinking that, if she tried hard enough, she could
get something flowing from their tips.
"Do I have your permission to stay here while you go to the party?" the Romulan asked after the two
had rested for a few minutes.
"You're not going?" Leeta returned.
"No, I'm exhausted."
"Okay, I guess that would be fine. Speaking of which, I better get ready."
Leeta got up to change in to her costume, not seeing the devious smile on the Romulan's lips.
When Leeta had left and Commander Sela felt safe, she got to work on the computer's security system.
She implanted viruses, wrote her own programs and everything else she needed. Her chuckled to
herself thinking about how easy it was to seduce the Bajoran. Sela had observed her checking out
almost any female she happened by, which was why the Commander had chosen her. All she needed
was to get into someone's quarters. This may not have been the easiest way, but it was the most intense,
enjoyable way. And Sela was all about intensity.
Leeta made her way to the party, her head still reeling from the encounter. What was she thinking? She
didn't usually have such intense, perverse desires and now she had had two sexual encounters with
women in the same amount of days.
When she had changed the room's security system to respond to *her* voice, Sela left the room. She
went to the same place where she had observed Leeta and Ezri buying their costumes and bought the
exact same outfit that Ezri was wearing. Trying it on, she said, "Now the fun can begin," and glided out
of sight, heading to rendevoux with her inside contact. It was going to be one hell of a night.
The party was electric. Dancing, drinking, flirting and just plain fun permeated Quark's. And it was
Quark himself who was the only one anyone could recognize. He wore a cheap Borg mask which didn't
hide his ears, but, other than that, he was dressed the same as he always was. Plus, he was still working
the counter, that also gave it away. Everyone else wore elaborate costumes and completely defied
identification. Most played along, not talking if they could help it, just dancing and having a good time.
Leeta spent most of her time with Ezri, who wore that creepy, double-faced costume extremely well. A
third person was with them, wearing an extravagant gown worthy of a princess and a gorgeous, pink
mask that looked like it just stepped out of Earth's Eighteenth century. This woman kept touching and
fondling Ezri and Leeta suspected, due mostly to her laugh, that this was Kira.
It was twenty-three-hundred hours when the trouble started. Leeta swore that she saw Ezri across the
room in that distinctive black costume with the white face. But that was impossible. Ezri had gone to
use the restroom and that was in the other direction. But, after a bit, Leeta shrugged it off. Perhaps, Ezri
was playing tricks on her, or perhaps someone had bought the same costume. It was a beautiful
costume, however creepy it was.
In a moment, Ezri was back and all over Leeta. She grabbed abreast and squeezed hard, making Leeta
yelp. She wasn't acting like this before. What the matter with her? Well, she had been drinking steadily
the whole evening. Perhaps, it was finally starting to go to her head.
As midnight approached, Ezri took Leeta aside and into one of the adjacent hallways. She began
rubbing her body up against the Bajoran, fondling and groping.
"Stop," Leeta said. She was uncomfortable in her suit, sweating and itching. "Stop!"
She pushed Ezri away and pulled off her mask.
"Prophets, I was gonna die in that thing!" she said.
Ezri said nothing.
"Well, are you gonna talk to me?" Leeta demanded.
Ezri said nothing.
"Leeta!" said a voice.
The Bajoran turned around and saw a man dressed as some kind of lizard creature.
"You're not supposed to take your mask off until midnight. That's still a minute or so off."
The voice was clearly Ensign Howard. Leeta sighed.
"You must be punished," Howard said, his expression unreadable under that lizard mask.
"Give it a break, Howard," Leeta said.
"No, I won't"
He was getting closer to the two of them.
"You have to be disciplined," he continued.
Suddenly, the clock was chiming and everyone was taking off their masks. Howard took off his and
eyes the two of them, a devious grin on his face. Out of nowhere, Ezri knocked the ensign to the
ground, where he banged his head. Leeta looked at her companion.
"You're not Ezri," she said. "Who are you?"
The woman in the costume pulled a phaser out of her robes and fired. Leeta yelped, but the shot wasn't
directed at her. Ensign Howard went up in flames. He was screaming in pain. Heads turned to the sight
and a sound of alarm came up from them.
There was a shriek, as the lights went out. The emergency lights kicked in and Leeta whirled around, a
look of terror planted on her face, facing the person she was with. The woman. The woman in the
mask. The woman gazed at her from behind that ambiguous mask, her head turning slightly to one side,
questioning. Then, she was laughing. She was laughing, like what had just happened was some kind of
cruel joke. Reaching up, the woman pulled the mask off slowly and Leeta gaped in horror at what she saw.
It *was* Ezri. And her face was twisted in a grotesque grin. A death's head grin, although she still lived.
"What's going on here?" Leeta said.
"I can provide the information you seek," said a cool, female voice.
Down the hallway walked a woman in a costume identical to the one that Ezri was wearing. She took
off the mask and Leeta saw that it was Sela.
"You?" Leeta said.
"Yes," Sela said. "Commander Sela, at your service."
"Sela. That's where I recognize you. A few years back, I saw your face on a Federation bulletin. You're
a wanted criminal."
"That's right," Sela said. "And I'm going to destroy this station. A glorious act of terrorism courtesy of
the Romulan Empire. My ship, which is sitting cloaked just outside the station, will explode in five
minutes. I've dismantled your security systems. You're helpless."
Ezri was still pointing her phaser, but now it was aimed at Leeta. There was a blank, dead look on her face.
"Ezri," Sela said, "shoot her."
"Yes, Commander," Ezri said without emotion. But she hesitated. She kept looking into Leeta's face.
She lowered the phaser.
"Shoot her, Ezri," Sela said, rage on her voice. She pulled a small device from her robes and pressed a
button on it. Ezri grabbed the back of her neck in pain and brought the phaser back up. At that moment,
Kira burst into the group, knocking over Ezri as the Trill fired. The blast hit the wall to the left of
Leeta. Sela, seeing she was now outnumbered, ran down the hallway. Leeta pounced on her friend and
grabbed the back on her neck. She felt a small, metal device there, just under the hair. She pulled on it.
Ezri screamed as Leeta yanked the device off. A small amount of blood trickled down Ezri's neck, but
she stopped screaming.
"Watch her," Kira said, "I'll take care of our Romulan friend."
Sela had found her Alamo at the end of a hallway, She was using a dead officer as a shield and was
firing at the other security personnel who had converged on her.
"You can't stop it!" she said. "In three minutes, this place is dead. And all of us along with it."
Kira peeked her head around the corner and assessed the situation. She thought for a moment, then
turned to one of her officers.
"Carlson," she said.
"Yes, sir."
"Isn't the Hood due here tonight?"
"Yes, it is, sir."
"Can you hail them?"
"Yes, I think I can."
After a few moments, Carlson had them and patched Kira through. Kira told them the situation and
what she wanted them to do.
At one minute until total destruction, Sela was brimming with confidence. She saw Kira peeking her
head around the corner at the far end of the hallway and aimed her phaser at the Bajoran.
"It would be an honor to kill you with my bare hands, Kira, but I don't think either of us have the time,"
she said.
Then she recoiled as she started to disintegrate. She was being transported.
"What the--" she got out before she was gone.
The Hood had locked onto her signal and beamed her directly into her ship, which was being towed by
a tractor beam into space. The Hood got as far away as they could in the seconds they had and let the
ship go. It drifted for a second and then exploded in a brilliant display that only the S.S. Hood was
witness to.
A few hours later, Kira joined Leeta and Ezri in sickbay. Leeta was standing over Ezri, who was lying
down, but conscious.
"What happened?" Leeta asked.
"The Hood was able to detect Sela's ship by analyzing it's tacion field," Kira said. "When they had it,
they were able to lock onto it with a tractor beam. Then, they transported Sela into her ship and got the
ship out of range before it exploded. Simple, really."
"I forgot how capable you were," Leeta said, smiling.
"Oh, she's capable," Ezri said, sitting up.
"No, sit down, honey," Kira said.
"I'm all right."
"You need some rest," Leeta said.
"That's exactly what I don't need."
"Well, I have to make my report," Kira said. "See you two later."
And she left.
"So, Sela had you under her control?" Leeta asked.
"Yeah," Ezri said. "I knew what I was doing, but I couldn't help half the time."
"So, that's why you acted so strange yesterday."
"No," Ezri said.
"What?"
"Sela just implanted the device into my head early this morning."
"Oh," Leeta said.
There was a pause.
"So," Leeta continued. "Aren't do for another session?"
"Oh, I'm sure of it," Ezri said, wrapping Leeta in an embrace.
Leeta saw Ezri regularly after that and the following Halloween was ten times better. But that's another
story.
