Summary: In this universe VOYAGER has been destroyed. A few spacesuited figures and other flotsam drift down to the planet below, there to burn up as meteoroids as they plummet planetward. Even so, there are a few words still to be spoken. For they that go down to the sea in ships have their own sea-anchors.....

Warning: There is no happy ending here. This is a tragedy. For there is no mercy between the stars. Only the coldest equations. Blame it all on post-Christmas blues.

LAST KISS

by R.Schultz

"Not much longer." B'Elanna wept.

"You do know how much I love you, don't you? You've given my whole stupid life meaning," I cried.

"I'm scared. Will it hurt, Katie? The pain....."

"It should be over before you realize it. The trajectory is too steep for either of us to linger. Your Captain tells you so."

"One last kiss?" she begged.

I blew one last kiss towards where I supposed her spacesuit was.

"I love you, B'Elanna."

"And I you, my swee.....," and it was over.

One bright trail of meteoric fire where her spacesuit entered atmosphere. My turn next.
