Toronto has a lot more than SARS??? Nilo and Ellen Fabie are the new additions to the Toronto Torresian group.  With their 2 sons, Francis and Joseph, they are here in Toronto as new immigrants.  The Bisda's held a welcome dinner for the Fabies last April 12.  Another get together at Val's place in Markham was held on April 18.  Click on the title for pictures and stories from Rey and Val.

   From Manhattan, they drove to Pennsylvania to visit a friend, then spent a couple of days in Niagara Falls.  These jet setters defy everything.  Neither Leah's pregnancy nor the SARS scare in Toronto can stop these family from their cross-American/Canadian family vacation tour. 

   From their accomodation at Royal York downtown, they were welcomed at Val Buzon's place in Markham where Rey Bisda, Nilo Espino and Nato Buzon and family joined them.  Hector and Rowena Datu-Esguerra (younger Torresians) who is currently living with the Buzons joined them, too.  It was a mini-Torresian reunion from different batches. 

   Another dinner was held at Rey Bisda's place 2 days after.  The Ponios got a taste of the famous Gretchen cuisine.  Unfortunately, she has to leave for work at 7:30 but we hanged around until around 10:00...past Rey's bedtime!!!  Read on......

   Our congratulations to the Manila group for their successful Family Day- BingGo Na fundraising event!!!  Here are two accounts on how much fun they have both in the Family Day and the BingGo Na, one from Ronnel and another from Paring Erick.

   Thanks for the pictures and captions courtesy of Ronnel.  117 batchmates plus their families attended the festival.  Thanks to all the teachers who gave us their support as well.

   The hard work and frequent meetings and planning of the Core Group really paid off.  We can just imagine what these bunch of go-getters can put together for the Homecoming inAugust!
 

   I have come across this great oath that we said during our high school graduation.  It was printed at the back of our yearbook.

finally after a long search, our dear steve tavera has been found. pearlie and i were able to talked to him over the phone. medyo bitin, dahil we have yet to meet him. he is as of this email in davao but he promised to call and set a date to meet me as soon as he comes back from his field assignment . wala pang masyadong details ng info sa kanya except binata pa sya. 

we will make the detailed report pagdating na lang nya ang importante natagpuan na sya.
fenchie, di  ba promised ko sa 'yo hahanapin  ko si steve. so ma'am mission accomplished!

paano sya natagpuan? simple. i used the handy dandy tool, telephone directory. di po sya listed sa directory. tinawagan ko lahat ng nakalist na taveras, pati na si pardo de tavera at tinanong ko sila kung may kamag-anak silang nagngangalang Stevenson Tavera na dating nag-aral sa torres high school.  swerte naman may isang nakaalala na may pinsan syang steve na every christmas lang nya nakikita, actually 2 christmases  pa lang nya nakita. and has no futher info on him. i left my number just in case may makuha syang info and presto the next day tumatawag na ang steve.
