Pakas |
Earth, place, region, in a somewhat abstract and extensive sense. Is parallel to Quechua and Aymara "pacha" , although without the temporary sense. It seems of Puquina origin paka qe or pacaje, the ethnic group that today speaks Aymara. The etymological sense that is given in Aymara "paqa jaqe" eagle man. But suspicious that it is puquina, and that the pacajes before the aymara spoke puquina, together with the karas, kanchis, etc. "Ka-pakas" kingdom, the lands under control of a gentleman. "Po ka-pakas" Thy kingdom. "Hanigo pakas-kuna-na" in the upper kingdoms (lands) . "Ho-pakas-na" In the lower land . Of this same puquina root comes the verb "pakariy" to appear, the braking of the day, the morning, etc. and the "pakarinas" altars, , all from Quechua. | Pacha | adj. Itself, the very. n.
