| A message from the desk of Fire Chief Craig Lambert |
| It is truly a honor for me to be the Fire Chief of the Harmony Consolidated Volunteer Fire Department. I have served the citizens of the community, and the Harmony VFD for 25 years. I started out with the Harmony VFD at the age of 16, following in my Father, James Lambert, and older brothers footsteps as a firefighter. My father helped to organize the Harmony VFD and my older brothers were with the Dallas, Texas Fire Department. It is my goal to continue the growth and development of the department started by Chief Frank Ford and continued by Chief Martin Lambert. The members of the department are truly dedicated to helping to protect the citizens of Western Upshur County and Eastern Wood County from fires and to provide fire/rescue and first responder services. I personnally would like to thank the former fire chief's of the Harmony VFD, Frank Ford and Martin Lambert for their tireless efforts to make the department one of the best in Northeast Texas and for the help and guidance that they still provide to me, the firefighters of the department, and to the community of Harmony. I would also like to thank the citizens of the community for their support, and ask that the support that has been given to us continue, because without this support, we would not be able to provide our services in a safe and effective manner. We are in the process of doing a year long fund raiser, to allow us to purchase a new wildland firefighting, rescue attack truck and some much needed new fire equipment. I welcome anyone from the community to come to a department meeting on the second and forth Tuesday nights at 7:00 pm, sit in with us, find out all about us and to join us in providing fire/rescue and first responder services for the community.
