Bittersweet Love Part 5 (adult) by Shirley Johns Within a half hour the search party was ready. Father and Mary stayed behind with the women and children. With her baby as their guide, Catherine, Jamie and the men set out to find Vincent and Lisa. They packed a week's worth of food, water, some medical supplies and tools. Catherine led the group with Jamie behind her. Forty-five minutes later, Catherine felt Vincent close. "She told everyone they did not have much further to go." Vincent was listening to the wall trying to hear anything. He heard footsteps far away. He felt Catherine's presence getting closer and closer. "Lisa it will not be long now." "I can feel Catherine near." Catherine placed her hand lightly on her stomach, she called out, " we are coming my love." "I will be there soon." She felt his reply " he could not wait to see her beautiful face and hold her in his arms." "He loved her." Ten minutes went by. They found the cave-in. Catherine called to him again, "Vincent can you hear me?" "Are you all right?" "He called back to her, she heard him faintly. "I am all right." "Lisa is with me." "She is all right as well." According to Kanin the cave-in did not seem too deep. If they work together removing the rubble Vincent and Lisa would be free in no time." Everyone worked diligently. With Vincent and Lisa's help on the other side, within a half-hour the cave-in was cleared enough for them to come out. Lisa knew Catherine would come in first, she quickly opened her shirt exposing her nakedness and hugged Vincent's neck. She pressed herself tight against him and kissed his cheek. "We made it Vincent." "I will never forget what happened here." After Lisa knew Catherine saw them, she moved away from Vincent facing Catherine she buttoned her shirt. This did not go unnoticed by her as Lisa hoped it would not. But Catherine's attention was quickly drawn to the beautiful man before her. She walked to him handing him his cloak, "I thought you might want this." Seeing the tears in her lovely gray green eyes, he threw the cloak over his shoulders and pulled her within his embrace. "Catherine your strength and courage saved us." She replied against his neck, "no Vincent it wasn't courage, it was the strength of my love for you." Stepping back a moment, tears were in his eyes from her admission of love, her took her lips to his own. Their kiss left them breathless. "I love you Catherine.." "I love you Vincent." He held her tight against him, she could feel his belt bucket pressed lightly on her stomach it was a loose. She looked across the cave at Lisa, she was naked underneath Vincent's shirt, his belt was undone. His words interrupted her thoughts, "come my love I want to get out of here." "I need to be with you." Placing their arms around each other Vincent gestured for Lisa to go first. When she got to the opening someone put a blanket around her shoulders as she exited the cave in. Catherine and Vincent walked slowly behind her. Everyone was happy to see them as they headed back to the upper tunnels toward home. Father heard the message over the pipes, "they had been found." He met them as they came home. Giving Vincent a hug, "I am so glad to see you son." "Are you all right?" "Yes father I am fine thanks to the beautiful woman at my side, looking down at Catherine." "Yes Catherine thank you for finding my son." "I will be forever grateful." Catherine nodded her head to father, before addressing Vincent. "Sweetheart I told everyone about our baby." "Our child is the one who lead us to you." "I reached you and found you though the Bond "he" has with you." "Catherine, "he" has the Bond with me already, he is so small." "He may be small my love but he is your child." Placing a soft kiss upon her lips, "yes my sweet he is." Not wanting to intrude on their tender moment, "Vincent, Catherine I will leave you two alone." "Glad to have you back son." "I will have food sent to your chamber. "Thank you father."
