Destiny Part 9 (rated r) Catherine and Vincent lay on his cloak holding each other close. The aftermath of their lovemaking surrounded them. Despite the warmness of his embrace, Catherine slightly shivered. Vincent knew it was time for them to go. Standing he put on his pants and helped Catherine to her feet. Wrapping his cloak around her he lifted her in his arms. Handing her the rest of their clothes, he carried her to his chamber. Laying her gently on the slightly worn comforter on his bed, he asked her to "wait a few minutes he would be right back and exited his chamber. He returned a little later with their dinner. Catherine went to get up to assist him and he stopped her. "Stay there my love we are having dinner in bed." Placing the tray beside her he removed his pants. Going around the chamber he distinguished all but one candle before climbing in bed beside her. They ate their dinner in bed by the light of a single candle. "Vincent this is so romantic. ""Thank you for thinking of it." "Catherine I love doing things like this for you, giving her a quick kiss on the lips. After they cleaned up their mess, Vincent grabbed their favorite book of poetry off his writing desk. When he climbed back in bed, Catherine snuggled close against him, enjoying the warmness of his hard body around her as he read "Winter Dusk" by Sara Teasdale. I watch the great clear twilight Veiling the ice-bowed trees: Their branches tinkle faintly With crystal melodies. The larches bend their silver Over the hush of snow: One star is lighted in the west, Two in the zenith glow. For a moment I have forgotten Wars and Women who mourn-- I think of the mother who bore me And thank her that I was born. Catherine turned toward him after he read. "Vincent you read that so beautifully and with such emotion." "I have heard you recite poetry before but never like you did this one." "Does it hold a special meaning for you?" Laying the book on his nightstand, lightly caressing her waist and down her leg, "Catherine let me tell you a story." "Go ahead Vincent." "I am listening." "A few years ago, I read this poem for the first time." "It was written so well." 'I could relate to its meaning until I read the last line." "I thought about what I am." "I felt my aloneness." "I could not bring myself to thank my mother for being born." "I read the poem a few times after that but I omitted the last line." "Three years ago I read the whole poem." "I had a new opinion of myself." "I no longer felt different or alone." "I thanked my mother than." "If it had not been for her, I would never have met you and fallen in love." Seeing the tears in his eyes, she rested his head between her breasts. Holding him tenderly, caressing his hair until his tears subsided. They spent the rest of the evening sharing each other bodies. Cherishing the extraordinary love between them until tiredness overcame them still joined as one. Vincent woke up about 5 am. Catherine was sound asleep. They both agreed while she was Below she should be in her own chamber when the tunnel community began to rise. Removing himself from within her, he lifted her in his arms. Being careful not to wake her, he carried her to her chamber. Putting her in bed, he placed a gentle kiss upon her lips, each breast and her swollen belly. Tucking her in, "I love you." "Sleep well my angel." Returning to his chamber he fell right back to sleep. Catherine woke up at 8 am alone in bed and remebered their agreement for her in be in her own chamber come morning. Her thoughts were interrupted when Mary entered the chamber. "Here dear I brought you something to wear," handing her a tunnel dress, wash cloth, soap and a towel. "Jacob told me last night at dinner you needed some clothes to wear." "We were so busy talking after dinner, we lost track of time." "It was late." "I did not get a chance to get them for you." 'I am sorry." "I will have them ready for you later today." "Later today is fine Mary," "Thank you for everything." "It was my pleasure Catherine." "Jacob is waiting for me in the tunnel." "We are going to see Vincent next." Now you run along to the falls." "I will have Jacob tell Vincent where to find you." "See you two at breakfast" and she left the chamber. Catherine was just starting to wash up when she heard a slash behind her just before strong yet gentle arms encircled her waist. "Good morning beautiful," kissing her neck. "Did you sleep well?" Turning around to face him she returned his kiss. "Vincent I sleep wonderfully." "We need to do what we did last night more often." "Well sweetheart, there is no reason why we cannot." "In fact I am looking forward to it." Taking her washcloth, Vincent began washing her. When he was done she returned the favor. Ducking under the water to rinse off, they began playing like children. When their playfulness turned arousing they made love in the falls. Floating in the water together, "Vincent this was the first time I ever made love in water." "Quite erotic don't you think?" "Well I am not sure Catherine. He began kissing her on her neck. All over her face. "I think we need to try again." "In one deep thrust he buried himself deep inside her and made love to her. As fulfillment approached them, Vincent 's warm breath lightly caressed her ear when he whispered, "Catherine this is quite erotic indeed and found release within her. Later as they helped each other dress, they made plans to return to their "special place" later that evening. Arm in arm they left the falls. Heading to the grand hall for breakfast, so absorbed in each other, they almost ran right into Mouse. "Mouse what are you doing here asked Vincent?" Out of breath, "Mouse has important message for Catherine from Above." Handing her the note. Catherine recognized the writing immediately, it was from Joe. "Radcliffe, I know you needed some time away from the office." "But an urgent case has come up." " I could really use your help." Joe. "What is it asked Vincent?' "Joe said he needs me on a case, and she folded the note. "Oh I see." She could see the hurt look in Vincent' eyes when he asked her "how soon she would be going Above?" "Mouse please leave us asked Catherine?""Okay, all right, fine, see you at breakfast. "Going over to Vincent she placed her hand beneath his chin. Lifting his head, look at me sweetheart?" Her eyes never leaving his as she spoke. "Vincent I came Below to be with you, to relive our memories and to share your world." "I am expecting our child, touching her stomach." "Joe is a friend and always will be." "Vincent you are the man that I love and the father of my child." I am not leaving my home to put myself and our child in danger." Joe made it before he met me and he can make it now without me." I on the other hand, cannot make it a minute without you." "I will send him a letter of apology later today." Seeing the relief in his beautiful blue eyes, she gave him a big hug and a kiss. "Now Mr. Wells, let us go to breakfast, I am starving." Giving her a tender hug and a kiss, "I 'm so glad you are staying Catherine." "So am I Vincent." Putting her hand on his arm they continued their walk to the grand hall.
