Surrender to Love (this is an adult story) Part 1 by Shirley Johns It has been three weeks since the love Catherine and Vincent shared in the cave saved his life. Father was beside himself with worry when Catherine ventured into the dark carvern alone. She told him Vincent was her life without him she had nothing. Father does not know how Catherine did it but she brought Vincent back to the people who love him. Catherine was going Below again today as she has done every day for the last three weeks. Being with Vincent helping him deal with the memory loss as the result of Parasalceus' evil. He feels like a stranger around the tunnel world. But he knows Catherine is the woman that he loves. She wanted to move Below to be with him, to take care of him and to love him. He refused her. Although she was deeply hurt by his rejection she never stopped being with him whenever she could. Today she found out the love she and Vincent shared in the cavern that day conceived a child. After Peter told her she was pregnant she went home and stayed on her balcony for a time sorting through her feelings. She wanted to have Vincent's child one day: his reaction is a different matter. He never wanted to consummate their love for fear of hurting her and they never did until that day. Vincent has no memory of what happened between them and she has not told him. She has locked the memories within her heart as she has done with all the other special moments they have shared. With her decision made, she headed for the tunnel entrance to tell Vincent. He was walking around his chamber when she arrived. Trying to familiarize himself with his surroundings. Since their Bond has been lost during his illness, he does not know when she is coming. Feeling someone behind him he turned around and faced her. "Catherine I did not know you were here." "A few weeks ago I would have felt you coming " and he lowered his head as sadness overcame him. Going over to him she placed her head on his chest. "Vincent the Bond we shared was something unique between us but it never changed our love for each other only heightened it." "Our love still exists and always will." "I feel that the Bond will return in time." "You will see." "I will have faith that it will Catherine." "You came earlier than usual today.' "Why?" "I wanted to tell you something but it can wait." "Vincent taking his hand come sit with me." "I would like to move Below." "To be with you." "I want to share your world." "Catherine no I cannot let you do that." "Your life is Above." "Vincent you are my life." "I am in love with you and I want to be with you every day." Lightly touching his face, "in every way." Covering her tiny hand with his own, he said " Catherine I love you too much to let you give up your life for me and you know how I feel about physical love between us." "I am sorry the answer is no." "I will not take the risk of this happening between us being so close to you." Angry and hurt her eyes swelling with tears she said, "I helped you through your illness, I have been with you during your recovery." "Now that you are getting better you feel you do not need me around you as much." "I will not go through this with you again Vincent." "As far as I am concerned the subject of my moving Below is closed." "I am returning Above and I will continue my life there as you wish me too." "I do not know when I will come Below again." "As for never consummating our love, it is too late for that." "Although you do not remember we already have." "Good bye Vincent." "Please do not come to me and she left the chamber leaving him stunned by her admission." Running after her "Catherine please wait?" Stopping "what do you want Vincent?" "I have nothing more to say." "Catherine, going up to her, when did this happen?" "In the cave Vincent." "We consummated our love on the cold dirt floor there three weeks ago and it brought you back to us." "This cannot be." "I would never have done that." "But in my raging darkness, oh God did I force myself upon you Catherine, please tell me" and tears began to form in his eyes. "Vincent don't cry, lightly rubbing his face, you did not rape me." "I did not want you to find out this way." "I was hurt and angry that you wanted to give up on us and I just blurted it out." "I am so sorry." "Catherine, moving away from her he began to pace the tunnel, if it was not rape than what was it?" Going to him, she wrapped her arms around his waist to stop his pacing. "Vincent it was wonderful." "Catherine how could making love to me as I was be wonderful?" "Vincent I thought you had left me I couldn't let you go without me." "I began to kiss you, breathing my life into you and you responded." "Our desires were unleashed and we made love." "It was over quickly Vincent.’ “We needed it so badly that our release came immediately and you passed out." "Vincent you felt so good inside me." "I disagree with you Vincent it was not a mistake but the start of something beautiful." "Catherine what do you mean?" "A child was conceived by your so called mistake." "I am going to have our baby with or without you ." "Goodbye Vincent." "Catherine wait ." This time she did not stop or look back, she had nothing more to say so she left the tunnels to go home.
