I'm regretfully selling my SE-R. I always wanted to get a SR20DET and Pulsar GTI-R AWD drivetrain and make one hell of a fast street, autocross and possibly rallycross car. Things have a way of changing on you though.
This 1997 has 104,xxx miles on it right now, and I've put on the last 23,000 since I bought it in January 2002. I haven't modified it yet, and the only thing not working on it that did when I bought it is the keyless entry. The Radio/Cassette/CD player now works, and I have repaired a few items in the past year and a half. The clutch, starter, and alternator have all been replaced.
The clutch because a rivet broke inside the clutch housing and eventually destroyed it. With a new one and a nice new cable everything is slick and nice again. The starter had to be replaced because when the clutch went out I started the car and it went while in gear. I limped home after doing this because I didn't think the clutch would have this problem, but it did a lot of damage trying to turn the engine and the move the car along. The alternator just decided it was time to go, and that's ok for a car when it has about 99,000 miles on it. Aside from that (and the keyless dying a month into my ownership) it's been a really great car. It has a couple of dings, but it's rust free and the exterior is overall better than most 6 year old cars are. The first owner took really good care of the car, and I've done likewise.
My fiancee and I don't need to have 2 cars here (particularly when she has a brand new one), and I have another car at my parents' house that they would like me to take off their driveway. On top of that, I'm also buying a motor scooter to get around town and campus with, so in order to purchase that, I would need to sell one car. Since I owe nothing on the other car, the SE-R is going.
