What is That in Your Hand?

Over the years, I have learnt that the Lord will only ask us for whatever we have for Him to use and He will take hold of that and turn it into great multipliers for His miracles and His blessings. Nothing is too small or insignificant for the Lord to use. As long as we are willing to allow Him, He will produce miracles with those same items. The Lord does not usually call forth something that is not there.

In John 2: 1 - 12, we have an account of Jesus turning the water in the six water pots into the best quality wine for a wedding couple in the village of Cana in Galilee. He could have spoken the word and the wine would have been created out of nothing and then the guests could consume the newly created wine. But our Lord did no such thing. It is not His modus operande. He would rather take something that we already have and that we have willingly given to Him and He, on His part, will honor us by causing whatever we surrender to Him to multiple and to bless us and those who were the intended receiving party

Galatians 1:9: Condemning Opponents?

Paul's curse in Galatians 1:9 is a hard saying for two reasons: it does not seem to be in agreement with some other statements of Paul, and it seems diametrically opposed to the teaching of Jesus with regard to our attitudes and actions toward those who are opposed to us.

In Romans 2:1-4 Paul lays down the principle that judgment passed on others is in some sense "reflexive"; that is, when we pass judgment on others, we condemn ourselves at the same time. For only God knows the truth about us, and only he is able therefore to pass judgment. We are mere creatures, limited with respect to both the truth about others and the truth about ourselves. We, like all others, are sinners (Rom 3:23); that is the ultimate reason we ought not to pass judgment.

The Poor have the Gospel preached to them

Isa 61:1-2 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God."

Ps 32:1-2 "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity."
Who is not offended (stumble or be ashamed) because of Me

Ps 118:22-26 "The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone. This was the LORD's doing; It is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it. Save now, I pray, O LORD; O LORD, I pray, send now prosperity. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD!"

Isa 28:16 "Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: "Behold, I lay in Zion a stone for a foundation, A tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation; Whoever believes will not act hastily."
Isa 45:17 "But Israel shall be saved by the LORD with an everlasting salvation; You shall not be ashamed or disgraced Forever and ever."

These are just a few examples. As I said, Jesus' whole life was a fulfillment of what had been spoken about Him by the Lord through the Old Testament prophets. Therefore, every word He spoke was already spoken about Him.

I say with no hesitation that that the study of Jesus' words and His life, to me, is more rewarding than any other study, and any other pursuit in life.
