Most of us are familiar with the term "contract" as
we would have entered into one at some point of our lives. We
would enter into a purchase contract when we pick something
up and pay for it at the supermarket. For those of us who are
employed, we have a contractual agreement with the company that

31:1: New Testament Morality or Old?
It is commonly said that Jesus expanded
or deepened the morality of the Old Testament. One example from
the Sermon on the Mount is "You have heard that it was
said, `Do not commit adultery.' But I tell you that anyone who
looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with
her in his heart" (Mt 5:27-28).
