ABC News v Northern Territory News

And the winner is
'Man eats croc' - ABC News

Yes, we've already had the man bites dog headline.  A young girl thought she saw a turtle in a watercourse near Timber Creek and decided to go in and have a look.  She was then attacked by a 2.5m crocodile.  Her father was watching and was able to bludgeon the croc to death.  He then ate it.  The young girl had some leg injuries but has lived to tell the tale.  Can't wait for the paper tomorrow.

And now from the Northern Territory News
'Oh lord, George in the soup again'

Our most right worshipful (or whatever) Lord Mayor was rushed to hospital with a heart scare.  But it turned out to be a bad case of gout caused by pork soup.  Who has ever heard of pork soup?  Everyone else in Darwin was wondering about the red wine.

'Croc heads go in $70 000 robbery'

A case for crime stoppers.  A Top End taxidermist was fleeced of a stuffed jaguar, six crocodile heads, a tanned zebra skin, a leopard skin, three entwined cobras and a couple of antelope heads.  He sure feels cool now.  A Palmerston detective said 'We have had the odd crocodile head stolen but this is the first theft of this size for a long time.

'Naomi has bad hair day'

Following Sunday's revelation that bad hair days lower self esteem comes the story of Naomi Campbell's non-appearance at Sunday night's Hairdresser of the Year Awards.  Now she might lose $150 000 in appearance fees.  I'll fill in for just $100 000 if you're reading this Wella Australia.

Finally as Planet Hollywood falls another chain rises
'Cannibal may open a restaurant'

The Phillipine Inquirer has reported that a pardoned cannibal priest killer has said he would like to open a restaurant.  He claims to have now converted to Islam and has become a vegetarian on 'health grounds'. Church leaders however remain outraged.  And the proposed menu...

A.  Galah with pasta salad primavera
B.  Sauteed Drongo with caraway-mint dressing
C.  Braised Turkey with Asparagus and ginger
