'Croc found in city lake'

Darwin's premier swimming location, Lake Alexander, was closed yesterday after a saltwater crocodile was spotted by a tourist. The crocodile was estimated to be between 60cm and 70cm. Parks and Wildlife conservation office, Barry Scott, said the croc was not a threat to humans. So why are they closing the lake?

'Search for missing pair after park visit'

'Police are looking for two Irish tourists after they failed to report to rangers while touring a Central Australian national park'. While it is probable that the two have forgotten to sign out when leaving the park - they may have run into flying spuds, monster ducks, unknown venomous snake species, or even fire bugs etc etc,

'Town saved from blaze'

Speaking of fire bugs, the 10th serious rural blaze in 11 days threatened to engulf the tiny town of Batchelor yesterday, A 20km firebreak was created to protect the townsite as the wildfire burned a 140sq km area.

'Body in tree sickens pupils'

Angry parents are demanding answers claiming that students were hysterical after being forced to play soccer while a body was in a tree nearby. Is this a shameless grab for money? Apparently, the kids were told not to go near a building near the soccer ground because of a death. So what did they do?

'Woman killed in mixing machine'

Check your noodles. 'A 41-year-old woman died yesterday after being pulled into a mixing machine at a Perth noodle-making factory when her jumper became caught on a mechanism of the machine'. There was no emergency stop button on the machine. Now that’s something to sue about - but it won't do the victim much good.
