| The Senior High Hawks softball team travelled to Carbonear in October to participate in the Newfoundland AAAA' Provincials. With a record of 2-2 it was not enough to make the ill fated crossovers. There offence was there to maintain a close game, but the defence found it difficult to pinch in on base hits that were being routinely distributed around the out field. In the close hard games the hawks played in, there many 5 run innings in which one game they scored 18 runs but still was not enough to win the game. The team stayed in Carbonear for 3 days being billoted out. It was the only other tournment they played in besides the regionals, which were hosted by the Hawks on Fogo Island. Being the defending Champions from last year, they were disappointed by their preformance this year, but know they played their hardest, they accepted their position in the tournment and went home satisfied. |
