About this Site
Packing a lunch can be a lot cheaper and healthier than buying one while out. Attractive presentation can definitely be a factor in influencing one's diet on a daily basis. When I was tempted by the food court and my only alternative was a crushed peanut butter sandwich in a Ziploc bag, it was a lot harder to resist the lure of the junk food! Since I started packing my own, I am eating less fat and preservatives. My corn allergy has ruled out a lot of prepared and packaged foods, so I have found a lot of easy make-my-own alternatives for things like pudding mix and canned soup. A small investment in proper containers which allow you to pack such foods without getting them ruined is well worth the effort. I adore my laptop lunchbox, but I have a cheaper Lock and Lock Lunch kit which is more than sufficient, and I use the square container for snacks and small meals. I also have a thermos jar which I use in the winter, and several other bits and pieces I use for other things. I hope you find my tips and recipes helpful for your own lunches and snacks. Feel free to email me with any tips and suggestions of your own! Links of InterestFlickr Groups of Interest |
