10.15 saturday night different show
the cure plays in glasgow during the 1981 picture tour...

and this is pretty noisy--an ok recording, you can hear most everything...a good decent mix. but the higher end/louder sounds have some distortion to them (even in the vocals too), and there's a pretty fair amount of tape noise as well. this isn't unlistenable, you can enjoy it (in my opinion) and put it in the cd player for a complete listen...not good, not awful...just right in the middle--acceptable/ok.

that said, the band seems to be in good form...after hearing the last bits of "carnage visors," they start "the holy hour." it's quite good, and a really nice "in your house" follows...

the bass gets kinda lost in the mix, pulling down "other voices" from what sounds like a good performance to just an ok recording...the same can be said for "10.15 saturday night" and "accuracy," both are well done/performed and listenable...

"the funeral party" is good, nice overall mix of sounds with the synths/bass/drums...and "m" is also really good, w/robert playing more guitars at the end,  followed by "the drowning man." "the drowning man" is hard to listen to, due to the sounds/distortion of the recording...much better stuff follows..."all cats are grey." it's really good and the sound isn't too far off either...excellent!!
"three imaginary boys" comes next, and "primary" comes right after...both are fine ("primary" would be even better if the mix were good), and "at night" is good and solid as well. the mood brightens up a bit w/"fire in cairo," and then w/aggressive takes on both "play for today" and "grinding halt." it's a shame that the recording isn't better, because both sound really aggressive and like the band was playing very hard and stone-faced. that aggression continues thru "a forest," which is excellent--solid all the way thru and then also including some of robert's better guitar stuff during the long outro...

"faith" ends the set, a very different tone--much more grey and misty than the songs before it, but it works well...it's not a remarkable version/performance, but good.

the encores kick off w/"jumping someone else's train" and "another journey by train." always good, and this is no exception...good momentum and movement, right into "killing an arab." that one kicks pretty hard as well, good and noisy w/extra guitars and bashing in the middle...super.

the second "10.15 saturday night" was taken from a different performance (it sounds better/a five piece cure with keyboards and extra guitars in the mix)...and is a little bonus...

this recording is ok, something to pick up if you don't have it and are looking to even up a trade...can't say that it's recommended, but an ok trade--go for some other better picture tour recordings first!!
