this track was written and recorded for the 1994 original motion picture "the crow" and was included on the soundtrack. the makers of the film had originally requested permission from the band/fiction records to use "the hanging garden" for the film, but robert and the cure offered to write and record something new just for this new project...in a similar mood/style. "the crow" was originally a comic book series with lots of dark visuals and themes, the writer/artist often cited the cure as an influence...and this can actually be seen in some of the visuals and the design/look of the title character's make-up/appearance. in a side-note, this was the last cure track recorded w/drummer boris williams...
