this track is a studio demo of the live favorite "forever." the band often performed this song in all sorts of versions...different music...lyrics...it's sort of a free-flowing mix, but always with some similar musical movement. the only official release of this track was the cassette only version included on the "concert/curiosity" release. this version was a studio demo, probably taken from the 1981 sessions for the "faith" album...if anyone knows differently, please let me know =)
due to the ever-changing performances, and sometimes unknowing people putting together unauthorized live recordings, some versions of "forever" have taken on different names...the song called "five" on the bootleg "cold," is actually very similar to "forever" and most would say it's actually one and the same...and the same is sometimes said of the track called "all i have to do is kill her," or "all i had to do is kill her." |
