For more than 40 years the municipality of Tapirula, north of Chiapas, with a population of approximately 13 000 inhabitants, undergoes of the chieftainship of the family Lopez Camacho. The natives zoques we put ourselves in hunger strike from the 21 of February of the 2001 in the socle of the capital in demand of a clinic that would benefit to 10 municipalities: Tapirula, Rayon, Pantepec, Tapalapa, Ocotepec, New Town, Ixhuatán, Solosuchiapan, Jitotol, habs stops near 80 000. of those regions. This strike is rotating: every 10 hours a companion puts itself in strike. Also we demanded a University for those municipalities.

• There have been impediments?

The pretext is put of which there is budget no to subsidize it. In all the mentioned municipalities the Lopez Camacho have influence. They are known by despoliation communal and ejidales earth, premanufacture of crimes, destructions in houses, physical aggressions, threats and attempts of homicide.

• They have support in the D.F.?

Here they support people and foreigners of civil organizations, but the verbal aggression is common from automobiles and when they pass trucks with porros.

• They have faced the repression here in the D.F.?

There was an aggression of the the 19 grenadiers of April, where they struck some companions. In the street of Corregidora there was an assault simulation where they struck three companions, one had 3 points in the skull, another 3 in him eyebrow. Also there has been attempts of evacuation with threats and pressure on the part of Mr. Alexander Ojeda Anguiano.

• What another thing demand?

The community cries out by legality and justice. The town does not want another massacre like the one of Acteal. The crime of these communities is to be poor, to be indigenous, to demand the recovery of earth undressed by the caciques, demanding the fundamental rights to the health, productive feeding, education and projects. We demanded the following petitionary sheet:

1. Justice, reestablishment of the state of right in Tapilula;

2. Evacuation of the white and paramilitary guards and application of the apprehension orders that weigh on them, application of all the weight of the law.

3. Cancellation of all you order them of apprehension against our indigenous municipal president and of several companions more.

4. Construction of the following facilities:

1. field clinic;

2. university (North zone);

3. building of the military preparatory school (recently made official),

4. and paving of 3 kilometers of countryside.
