The BBC once asked RR to be on radio to discuss the "efficacy" of UN peace keeping troops. Once an outline was sent to them, the BBC decided not to go on with the discussion, without ever contacting us. The British are known for their manners.
 
Once John Malkevich said he wanted to beat the British journalist and Arabist Robert Fiske, and another trabant -- a Scottish MP -- into inches of their lives. He later recanted and said he would rather shoot them, since that was cleaner. <<RR
